Saw that on the shop last week and thought it must have been worn in one game I may have missed years ago. I can’t work out which game it may have been…or if it was ever actually worn in a game.

I also thought it would be today, so may be it will be Monday or some time next week.

I thought Monday was more likely than today. Doesn't make much sense to launch a kit on the same day as a CL final at Wembley.

Or Monday when everyone is at work or collecting their dole money .

And saw this, wtf is it?

"Aston Villa 1996 Blank-Out Shirt"

Weird.

The description says "Wear your pride in Villa's 1990 season and the club's history with this blank-out shirt based on the kit worn by the team that year. Featuring the crest, sponsor details and pattern of the original 1990 shirt, but all in blank-out white 'colouring', this is something many a Villan can be proud to wear, whether you were there for the original season yourself or want to pay homage to an era of your club from well before you were born. The classic collar with a single snap fastener is yet another nod to a bygone age and its iconic style.

Clearly an error, I'd say. It doesn't appear to have a fastener on the collar for a start,
Yes, that text doesn’t make any sense. You can just make out that it is the Reebok AST shirt, but I’d certainly want to see it in real life before buying! I’ve got the England 1970 blackout shirt, which is made by Score Draw I think?

It's the 1990-1 Mita Copiers shirt 'whiteout' - similar to the 'mash-up' shirt made out of all 3 shirts from that season which is nothing short of an abomination.  Who buys this tat?

Yanited's third kit for next season.

I could live with a Villa version of it as our third or away kit i.e. claret and clue bands on a white shirt with a trefoil logo.

Yanited's goalkeeper kit for next season.

Put the Villa crest and Betano on it in white, and Emi would look very imposing in it.

I thought our deal with Castore finished at the end of May, and now that we’re in June we’d be seeing the new kit almost immediately?

Was I just being laughably naive to think that?

I might be I'll informed on these kind of things, but we always seem a bit slow on the kit front.  I was in Birmingham Airport the other day and there pride of place in the window of JD Sports were the new Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City kits.  I know we are changing kit manufacturers this summer, but we've seemed to be slow releasing kits for a number of years now.

I did pick up a rather fetching retro white 90/91 - 92/93 away shirt for a present for someone from there though.

Looks like something Austria would wear.

Maybe it's a case this year of us waiting for a window of relatively little other football news or kit reveals, so we can be the main news. Seems like they're putting a lot of effort into it.

And the addition of a Champions League sleeve logo being another significant enhancement on what's available in the Old Trafford megastore.

Remember how we used to make a big deal of kit launches - catwalk nonsense, that thing we did in Centenary Square.

Then Lerner lost interest and we’d just have a lorry tip them out in a pile outside the club shop every year.

It was a huge deal for a while with Nike.  I'm sure I've said before, but I went into the big Nike flagship shop on Oxford St and there we were, given equal prominence it seemed with Barcelona and Arsenal.  Crazy days.
