"And the 2016 crest was brought back, and made much worse". So true.

Yep. I even said that out loud when I just watched it.

Aston Villa are pleased to launch an all-new Pride pre-match jersey, available online and from the Villa Store now!

A unique collaboration with adidas and American fashion designer Jeremy Scott, the shirt will be worn by Villa's women's side during their warm-up this Saturday.

I think that might be the worst I've ever seen. And that's quite something.

Bit of an over-reaction, but if so, I suggest you don't google search Adidas x Jeremy Scott and look at the images of the trainers.....

It reminds me of that Mexican goalie who designed his own kits.

Normal typical pretentious clothes designer thing. If it was an actual top the teams would be wearing for matches I might actually get upset about it. As it is, it is a rainbow coloured top which is more there to promote Pride and our LGBTQ community. And it seems to be working being as people who wouldn't comment on it if it was white with a rainbow band are making comments about it, even if it is down to it being ugly.

I don't mind it. I wouldn't wear it, but I haven't worn any new Villa shirt for at least fifteen years so I doubt they'll care about that.

*Don't take this post the wrong way - I know people can get a little bit hot under the collar on this subject, but this post is just meant to come across as questioning whether we're going the right way about promoting inclusion of these communites. Sparking debate on a forum, so to speak*

Part of me wonders if 'promoting' every living breath out of the LGBTQ+ community is actually alienating people who were otherwise impartial?

Surely inclusion means we all live together in harmony, not highlighting certain groups as 'different' or requiring special events or garish football strips? Wouldn't the most inclusive solution be for EVERYONE to support the club on an equal footing - ie. In claret and blue? Or am I just being naive?

I long for the day where people can just be who the fuck they want to be, where nobody bats an eyelid, without the need for virtue signalling and box ticking from these big corporations. Fancy rainbow t-shirts or laces aren't going to change the minds of those who think people on boats crossing the channel are the reason there are no jobs or hospital beds. All it does is add more fuel to the fire imo.

*and on the subject of the shirt itself, it looks like a cat has sicked all over it. It take's Bozzie's Asics goalie top and says 'Hold my pint'!  🤮

If it makes LGBT+ people feel more included, I'm all for it. If it alienates the sort of people who would be offended by a pro-LGBT+ message then, again, I'm all for it.
