It's designed by jeremy scott, take a few minutes to look into what he does and it's clear this is bang in line with what everyone will have expected as soon as they got him involved.

He's no Yohji Yamamoto, he's not even a Wales Bonner.

Never heard of him but looks like he's done a few things with adidas so probably part of the wider deal .

Just type in adidas x jeremy scott and look at the image search for all his previous Adidas show designs. Most are like the international fashion shows, stuff that people will go "who will wear that" but are mostly there to for people to share and promote adidas symbol and whatever else, in this case Aston Villa and our Pride support.

If it's a very limited edition it might work in my opinion. Otherwise (depending on price) can't see many buying it from an aesthetic view , but I'm probably well out of touch now on this stuff .

Should have just said "The Scottish Club" and left it at that.

If it makes LGBT+ people feel more included, I'm all for it. If it alienates the sort of people who would be offended by a pro-LGBT+ message then, again, I'm all for it.

This.

My gay younger brother once phoned me, about 5 or so years ago, whispering, hiding in a hedge. He had been punched and managed to get away, and I could hear the group looking for him in the background, slurs in tow. He was petrified. He's very different to me and my older brother, we're burly-don't look like you want to trifle with us-types. My younger brother isn't.

We jumped in the car, armed with dumbell bars, ready to take on however many we needed to. The line went dead as he didn't want to make a noise and be seen with the light. That 20 minutes getting to him was absolutely fucking horrible not knowing if they had found him or not. I felt sick the whole journey not knowing what I was about to do. Thankfully they hadn't found him. My older brother, the hothead, drove around looking for them. Thankfully we didn't find them because I wouldn't have been able to stop him and I'd likely have served prison time. I'm a massive wimp by the way, I just don't look it, but I'd protect my brother at all costs.

Anyway, all this because he's gay. Yeah, we all want to live in a world where no-one bats an eye lid, but it isn't fucking happening, is it? I have no idea if any of this pride stuff moves the dial or not, but I appreciate the effort. Not having an openly gay Premier League footballer says a lot, and it's sad.

Police didn't catch them.

That’s shocking and very sad.

Football still has fans calling players 'poofs' when they don't jump up after a challenge. People still use homophobic slurs in general usage.

Why shouldn't a positive example be set? Why shouldn't the club be demonstrably inclusive?

I like that it annoys people that we have that shirt, open up VP to the local community for fasting etc. It helps weed out the scum in our support.

I made the mistake of reading the comments under the social media posts the club did for both and we have some massive wrong 'uns following us.

As I  made my way out of the stand after the Fulham game, and shuffled towards the stairs, I noticed 2 young ladies still in their seats, laughing and singing along to hi-ho Aston Villa.
They were both having great fun.

Both were wearing hijabs.

I thought how absolutely brilliant it was that they were there, enjoying themselves.

Then I thought to myself, it shouldn’t even have registered with me. Why should it have ?

I’m not sure whether I am in the wrong for even noticing.
But whatever, it was lovely to see them enjoying the moment.

The issue isn’t with you andy, it’s a football issue that many parts of the community in which we exist don’t feel welcomed or included so someone wearing a hijab isn’t the norm like it should be but hopefully That’s gradually breaking down. There are still nasty pricks in our support who would not look on having a multicultural support in anyway positively but fuck them tbh.
