It's going to be a very different team when the new season starts.

Probably not.

I hate this defence and keeper.  I never want to see any of them in a Villa shirt again, other than Konsa.  Absolute garbage.

Ah, there's that angry match-thread energy we were missing.

Accurate though.  They are really poor defensively.  Digne has been solid going forward, but poor defensively.

He's been one of the best two or three left-backs in the league this season. Probably the single best defensive moment of this game is where Olise dribbled past two of our midfielders and Digne calmly took the ball from him and passed forced to Watkins.

He's also been significantly better than Konsa has for the last couple of months.

And then he drops too deep for their second goal and plays them onside Dave.  Digne is ok, he's been solid enough and I don't disagree about the Konsa argument but I'd like a better defensive line up for next season if we are going to improve even more.

I’d be surprised if either centre half is with us next season.

The ref has been a bit of a knob.

I Can not believe slagging these players off, we have 11 players out all who could make a positive contribution to this team.
Digne has been excellent this season game after game.

Digne has had a very good season for us without any back up at all really

Agreed, he’s so meek and indecisive. Who even is Darren Bond?

Yeah, it really doesn't matter.

Not moving up or down the table, an entire viable first team XI unavailable, season over, players mostly trying not to get injured and thereby fuck up their holidays or the Euros.

I don't even know why I am watching this, tbh.

Not watching but has Ollie had any major chances?

Real shame if he misses out on 20 league goals.

Commentator said it was only his 5th premier league match. Shouldn’t get many more

Had a free header off a corner, but put it into the ground.

Accurate though.  They are really poor defensively.  Digne has been solid going forward, but poor defensively.

But they're our 4th and 5th centre backs, playing in front of our 2nd keeper and behind our 6th CB who's playing in midfield because we've got half of the squad out injured and the only senior player available outside this 11 is Torres who has apparently been playing through a minor injury for a couple of months.

All correct, well done.  Like I say, be great to have better players that these clowns as our second 11 isn't up to it.  Digne and Konsa are ok be have struggled since Christmas.  I hope we address our defensive side in the summer and Tyrone comes back strong.

How many teamas could have the injuries we have and be significantly better than this though? Given a big part of our defence is about them playing as a unit it's no great shock that we're seeing mistakes, not only are these backup players but they're also part of a defence that seems to a different line-up every week (particularly if you include the DM as part of the group). It's been shit, I get it, but we need to keep some perspective, I doubt anyone would've predicted this keeper/defence/DM starting a game together at the start of the season.
