I wanted a performance and got it. In terms of what we've achieved this season it was a great end, and could've been better. The crowd were great and SJM was immense. And the lap of appreciation was not the flop I imagined.UP.THE.FUCKING.VILLA
There’s obviously players out there carrying injuries and playing through the pain barrier…and there’s player who may not be injured but absolutely dead on their feet running through treacle. I noticed SJM getting handed some kind of tablet (presumably pain killer) when he went to the touch line after going down holding his ribs, so it begs the question how many of them are being managed and/or taking injections/meds to get them through these last few games. Also what it does show is determination and great team spirit led by SJM…they are a collective throughout this regardless of whether we win, lose or draw.

I've never really seen him as that sort of player, but he's really stepped up this season and is clearly quite vocal.

Bailey was sensational bearing in mind he was strapped up and playing through the pain barrier. Quote from: CT Villan on May 13, 2024, 11:08:49 PMI love Leon Bailey, he so clearly wanted this tonight despite playing injured.Bailey has been unbelievable this season, and that's no exaggeration.I could have picked half a dozen players for player of the season but went with him, and I'm glad I did as since then I've watched him limp through the pain barrier in the last week heroically, and then turn in a performance like that.In the words of the great man, "what a player".
