I'm hoping the players still standing can muster one last performance this week and get CL sealed up. Mentality can't help with injuries but maybe some of them can pull some energy out of somewhere knowing they're about to be off for a few months. Some of them it could well be their last appearance at Villa Park.

Alternatively we throw this game by resting half the team, hope Man City beat Spurs, and have a decent crack at Palace on the last day.

Nah, basically a week between Liverpool and Palace, if that's not enough rest then an extra two days won't make a difference.

No, one last heave, home game, big atmosphere, might as well give it everything.

That sounds a bit risky.

It’s one win in six now and three defeats on the trot in all comps.

Foxy bingo. Sexy bingo. Tits.

Is that similar to Strip Poker?

Why encourage all these vices.
And some don't even exist it's probably more humour which I will not be looking up on the internet!

It's our way of coping with tonight's crushing disappointment.

We know about Tielemans (and indeed Zaniolo) - fully expect close-but-no-cigar news again. Any word on Rogers?

Did Tielemans even travel to Greece? He wasn’t in the training pics was he? Same with Rogers. I’d guess neither of them will probably be fit for Monday if they weren’t even on the bench today.

I carry on fine and the same all the time, it's you that's the weird stalker. I never mention you until your weird stalking starts again.
Sent from my Androd.

Please listen, word to the pair of you that you are embarrassing yourselves. Would you mind taking this to PM or something? It's bad enough on here as it is at the moment without this stuff too.

Kind regards,
My remaining brain cells.

If the players have as much fight as the pre-match thread, we'll be fine.

They won't even kick off. They'll just be too overcome with fear and dissolve in lachrymose wailing.

Nunez hasn't scored in his last 8 matches. Surely not, right?

I don’t think our system and strategy of playing out from the back allows us to just Chuck someone in our midfield.Paticularly if that someone requires 2 touches before they look up and try and pass to a team mate.
Missing Tielemens Zaniolo and Rogers after missing Kamara and Ramsey.
That’s 5 midfielders not available before we consider Buendia.

Then the answer, in my opinion, is the dreaded 3 at the back, allowing Pau to join the midfield a bit more. We are in desperate need of more...well, more anything really in midfield.

After reading the Olympiacos match thread - it seems as though we will not get a point from either of our 2 remaining games due to our players being tired, hitting the wall (whatever that means?), therefore we may as well not bother showing up on Monday.

It will be interesting to hear the reaction of the crowd on Monday if we go a goal or 2 behind against Liverpool, will we all be saying it is because they are tired?

Hopefully Spurs will lose one of their remaining 3 games to ensure us getting top 4.
