Luiz with his regulation yellow .

It just occurred to me how most of his yellows come from how exposed the team is through the middle. Some of that is his fault, of course, but not all of it (spoiler: it's probably Diaby's fault, and I hate piling in on him but man, he's having a horrible time of it recently).

We just can't play with Bailey and Diaby in the same team. I wish Emery would stop doing it. Konsa at right back as well, FFS.

Why did the headless chicken cross the road?
Because his name was Diaby.

Emery needs to shift focus to Monday now . We are in danger of blowing 4th too. We are relying on the incompetence of Spursy.

El Kaabi could get a prem contract next season. He's proved himself banging in 4 against a prem defence. The promoted teams might take him or someone like fulham
He'll be 31 next month but has looked decent. He scores goals, but his club CV doesn't shout out anything outstanding.

Bailey shot sums up very similar to there’s in the first half - took a deflection but there keepers hand strong enough.

Can’t see us scoring three in the rest of the season let alone tonight

Awful defending from Torres for the goal, but it was Diaby that gave it up cheaply in their box that started it. Diaby has been a complete and utter waste of a shirt. We are strolling out of the competition, not even bothered enough to have a go.

We must be saving it all for Liverpool (though I very much doubt it).

Duran on and dyche ball 2nd half please. Fuck it.

The chances of us deviating from the philosophy that has brought us back to Europe and the business end of a cup competition to the sort of style that held us back for decades are slim to none

Diaby and Watkins not at it at all yet. Best Luiz and McGinn have played in weeks but the goal didn't come. Zombie like defending for their goal from Konsa and Torres. Carlos brainfart in first minute should have been enough of a warning.

If we get one back before 60 mins then I think we can still make it interesting. Might aswell bring on Duran for Carlos at the break.

We have no urgency about us. We need better players. Crap against a packed defence. Why not mix it up?

Duran for Diaby at half time please.  We’re all over this average Joe bunch of jammy ****** but lacking a cutting edge (Diaby).
Watkins gets a pass then?

Yeah cause he’s been our best player all season and doesn’t keep losing the ball this evening.
That doesn't matter at this point. What has Watkins done during this game? I agree that Diaby has been playing with the Benny Hill theme today but we need Watkins to fucking score, which he is far from doing.

They don't look all that clever on crosses and their keeper seems a tad flappy.

I'd stick Duran on and sling some crosses in.
Yet they still make a flukey save.
Down the other end and that flies into the top corner

I thought exactly the same.

Once upon a time scoring against would be the prerequisite for him being our summer signing... and not cutting it.  I reckon week-in, week-out he's no better than a ten goal a season Premier League signing.
