Bit Mumford and Sons for me Clive. Lyrics could definitely work as a chant though.

Jesus fucking Christ.

Utter shite, though I can see why people might like it.

Better than that dreadful allez allez dirge, however.

Good effort but no. We do need a new song though.

Jesus, only slightly less cringe-inducing than that "Aston Villa that's who" atrocity.

That's not bad, as these things go. It's a nice idea to use "Oh, it must be..!".

I thought that was quite mild.

I guess anyone who doesn't like folk music would always hate it.  And let's face it, any song written about a football club will always be a bit cringe.  If some of it makes it to a chant it won't sound folky then. I'd take a wild stab that Risso and any metal heads on here weren't too keen on Achy-breaky heart but love the SJM song.

But I think it's unlikely that we'll hear it sung in the Holte any time soon.

A lot less cringeworthy that the atrocity you mention. TBH, anything that gets widespread adoption is going to have to be very 'middle of the road' ...

We need to stop trying for an anthem because we all know that anybody who puts the effort in to create one will be met by the usual criticism and negativity on display .

I still find it a bit of a puzzle that 'The Sun Never Sets on Aston Villa' by Spizzenergi isn't appreciated as a potential anthem.
