Fan Voted Player of the Year

Anyone get the email today asking us to vote for fans player of the year? Interested to hear people's thoughts on it.

I voted for Digne. Not the obvious choice, and I was scrolling through to vote for Watkins. But I have been very impressed with Digne all season and especially in light of the fact he was on his way out at the end of the summer window and ended up having to stay. My understanding is that he did actually want to go home to France, but his attitude has been superb despite that. Also he really stepped up in Moreno's absence and even since Moreno's return, he's been excellent whether starting or coming off the bench. I know Moreno is injured again at the moment, but arguably Digne is the first choice in that position based on form.

Anyway, that's my 10 cents worth. Anyone else want to chime in? Not looking for people to start fighting with one another, but it feels like a season where there's a case to be made for an awful lot of players, which is pretty exciting.

Lots of players have had great seasons. Tough to choose between Ollie, SJM and Emi for me.

Ollie Watkins has been superb. Done his job well.

Digne has been very good, so has SJM and Luiz.

Digne is a good shout, one of a fair few unsung heroes this season.

Could be anyone from a long list, my personal choice is Emi Martinez. He has been so consistent this season and has saved us plenty of points, whilst also retaining the ball for a ridiculous amount of minutes.

Ollie will win it though,

I voted for Watkins but I can think of maybe 7 others who have been consistently very good - Emi, Konsa, Torres, Digne, Luiz, McGinn, Bailey

Luiz surely a better season than Bailey and McGinn? Bailey had a rotten start to the season and McGinn was mixed enough for a while.

No doubt on the number one this season, has to be Ollie. Maybe Martinez 2. Most improved, Bailey. Disappointment, Zaniolo unfortunately. Diaby hasn't quite delivered like a 50m player should be either (but not all bad).

Given Ollie should probably win Player of the Season for the whole league, it's hard to find a reason why he wouldn't win it at club level.
