Fuck knows how it works with the penalty yellow though as i've never seen that before.Trying to remember when I last learnt a match rule of which I had previously been unaware

A difficult watch early on but credit to Lille [...]
That's why he's the world's number 1. We'll still get pelters for the way we played tonight. Some of it deserved, admittedly. But we played better against Lille away than Madrid did against Citeh. For us it will be lucky, lucky Aston Villa. For the latter, it was resolute Madrid/ Madrid finding a way, as always.
Aa final point, the players will have learned so much from this to take forward into next year’s European competition, whatever that might be.
As it’s the morning after there is now some perspective on the game. First off, why were we so flat? Was it the risk and worry about suspensions or just tiredness. The second point is, despite being so bad we had the two best chances to win the game, in extra time. Aa final point, the players will have learned so much from this to take forward into next year’s European competition, whatever that might be.

According to the guardian, our win was ‘tainted’. I’ll be going back to ignoring their almost non existent coverage of Aston Villa from now on.

I do not have TNT sports, so had to watch Lee Hendrie - describing the game on SKY - I thought i was going to heart attack when he was talking about the penalties, even my Wife (who has no interest in football, was willing us to win). When we won the European Cup in 82, there were a few games where we could have gone out, but for brilliance by Rimmer / Morley etc..Well done Villa, brought a few tears to my eyes when we won - onto the next game
