Amazing result, but boy did we do that the hard way. Emi is brilliant.

Cautions given during the game do not carry over into the penalty shootout so Emi should be ok.

Aston Villa biggest cheats on the planet. So let me get this right a goalkeeper in a shootout can be as unsportsmanlike as they want unless a ref has the guts to show a straight red (they wont)

Martinez should have got a least 2 yellow cards in that shootout. Not to mention being off his line and then you have the phatom handball in extra time which apparently hit Cash’s chest.

Nah I am not having it.
Refs bottling it again, Cash swept the ball away clearly with his hand, Martinez should have been sent off, Watkins elbow on that defenders head (did you see the lump on his head) that was a red card too, the smug effers will win it and the refs have been 12th man especially in this game

Love how he acts completely shocked and bewildered when the ref has a word.

On the 80 mins mark was thinking biggest no shown since Chelsea FA Cup Final, now I’m thinking biggest smash and grab since Chris Price at Highbury ! Absolutely over the moon right now like the rest of us. UTV.

Before the shootout I know we had to certainities in Tielemans and Luiz. I was very worried when I saw Watkins coming up and even more when Cash came, but their penalties was boom! in the net :)

Lille were a really good side, we won't face any better. It's our trophy to lose.

Fenerbache have a good team on paper.

But a lot of their big names were outstanding players 5-7 years ago.

Keep top eye open for Fiorentina. But the two best teams in the comp played in Lille tonight. Even if neither played anywhere near their best.

i
Emi is the best goalie at Villa that I can ever remember.

I think he is and I saw the very best of Spink and Bozzie

Yes. Spink was always my all-time no 1

This pushes it over the edge. It’s Emi.

Special credit to Ollie; the wonderful Lille fans tried so hard to put him off with withholding then throwing the ball on the pitch and even slipping he was ice cool.

Yep. Great penalty by Ollie (I was looking through my fingers)
