Yep we’ve had some very stodgy Conference League displays, I'm hoping we’re a bit more lively on Thursday. I’ve no idea how good Lille are, although them having a pacy forward concerns me, but we could really do with a comfortable win.

I wonder if there is a Lille forum where their fans are wetting themselves because we have 3 pacy forwards!? Sometimes the negativity on here is astonishing.

“Concerns me” doesn’t really translate to “wetting myself” does it?

Without evidence it's tough for us to tell.

On one of Lille's forums, they recognise it is a difficult game for them and most would take a draw or a narrow defeat. They also think their rowdy full stadium for the home leg will be influential.

A few have called out that they are aiming for history to reach a European semi-final so there won't be any resting of players, not least because  their intervening game against Strasbourg was postponed.

Possible starting line-up:

Chevalier (young keeper, 2nd full season)

Yoro (only 18, first season)
Diakité (23 - second season at Lille)
Ismaily (34 - Brazilian)
Tiago Santos (21 - Portuguese)

André (33 - longstanding regular)
Bentaleb (29 - Algerian international - started out at Spurs)
Haraldsson (20 - Icelandic international)
Gudmundsson (24 - Swedish)

Zhegrova (25 - Kosovan international)
David (24 star player - Canadian international)

Also they have Cavaleiro who was at Wolves and Fulham.

I'm surprised there is a severe lack of French players in that team.  Maybe I shouldn't be?

Yoro is a serious talent and expected to be sold for a big fee in the summer. Their main playmaker has been out injured, Angel Gomes, but may play a part in the tie.

No doubt they are a decent side, only 5 league defeats all season. We will definitely need our strongest available 11, and tighten up at the back. I don’t think there will be many goals.

I think lille is the toughest team after fiorentina left. This will be a tough game for sure. If the 2nd game was at villa park i would feel abit more confident

I think 'absolutely essential' might be pushing it.

Where's the great Turkish Yusuf Yazıcı? Is he injured out of favour ? Lille Top scorer in Europa League but leaving end of season on a free.
He's a decent player has great attacking qualities and would forecast he would cause a lot of issues.

If Ginny gets banned again this season then he's really letting everyone down.

If he gets a straight red yes. A yellow card resulting in a ban is more subjective.

Pretty sure Kesler-Hayden isn't in the submitted squad. So probably not worth being thrown out of the competition just to give Konsa a rest.

Friday June 14  Germany vs Scotland (Allianz Arena, Munich) will he get booked ?
He must learn not to put his team and team members in jeopardy.

Against England in Euros, Ginny booked after 15 minutes, and it curtailed him. The point is that his bookings can change how he plays.

Now Vs Lille if he plays without suspension in mind, then he'll be suspended because he plays without it in mind, and the way he plays anyway, well, he could be suspended.
I think he'll have to sit out one of the two leg QF matches either suspension or because of the risk.

At some point, Mcginn could be suspended if not in this European club competition, then Euros in Germany.
