we'd all have snapped anyone's hand off to be where we are at this stage. 4th in April with a chance of a European Trophy.

After the Man Utd home defeat   "We've blown our chances"
After Tottenham at home  "That's it...the season's over"
Brentford home draw  "That's the defining moment...we're not going to do it now".

Didn't a wise man once say  "Do you want to bet against us?"

We would. Makes sense that expectations may change though.

Are you still confident of top 4 Ads? I think that 9 minutes yesterday  will be a defining moment in our season which is a shame considering how brilliant it's been. I'm just trying to imagine a close second leg in Europe away in Lille..

I'm hopeful. Top 5 would probably do it. Watching the Liverpool game with far too much involvement, reminds me of the Lambert era, but for very different reasons!

Blow Lille away next Thursday, cigars out for the 2nd en route to the semi final.

Ollie is absolutely spot on in his assessment. The mentality for where we are and what we want to be isn't there right now. We're 2-0 up  in the second half against a side barely avoiding relegation. We've got to close the game down at that point

In the near 12 months since the bonkers home game against Arsenal our record in league games we've led in is

W28 D3 L1.

It doesn't strike me as a massive issue.

Right but the issue isn’t primarily surrendering leads. It’s more that when teams put pressure on us we fold really easily. On a few occasions that’s resulted in surrendering a lead, where sometimes we’ve managed to recover, but it’s also resulted it some very comfortable wins for the opposition. It’s that weakness under stress that’s the problem.

If Liverpool do lose today we're 1st for fewest points dropped from a winning position this season.

File under 'Scant Consolation'.

Or file under what people are making a big issue of isn't actually much of an issue for the last 12 months.

We have dropped four points from a winning position. So why do you decide you want to make us worse on a very specific subset?

We've not won after leading by 2 twice under Emery. Twice in 73 games is hardly a regular occurence.

I wasn't one of the people overreacting to yesterday's game, far from it. But given the choice between being top of that 'table' or Liverpool winning 3-2 today, I'd choose the latter.
