Sometimes it’s about finding the positives and I think you have. Onwards and upwards!

Excellent article.

It’s also worth noting that if we did have a bug in the camp, Emery didn’t mention it or use it as an excuse. His whinging counterpart (great coach though he undoubtedly is) last night would have been all over it.

Give me all the money in the world, for Barcelona, Bayern or Manchester City and I will also be ‘world class’.  They are boring, soulless and cheating.

Excellent article Dave. Balanced as always.

He never does. He turns everything into a positive which in todays game is refreshing.

It’s a bit chicken and egg isn’t it?

He wins trophies because he works at the richest clubs. He’s at the richest clubs because he wins trophies.

Yep, on the one hand he has been at places where it would be difficult not to do well, Barcelona and Bayern traditionally at or near the top or moneybags Man City but on the other hand Barcelona haven’t been as good since he left on the whole and Man City were definitely not as good until he came. Bayern I don’t really know as I’ve never really followed German football, but I do think he’s very good. It would be interesting to see how he did at somewhere like Stoke though, for example.

You've nailed it on all points Dave. Your analyses are consistently thoughtful and erudite.

Started by expecting to get a whacking, then surprisingly hope, then anger at Z who I’d been pleasantly surprised at his work rate, then tried to text my daughter without using the words I was thinking.
