Agree with all that. Need to press them all match then, when we beat them on Wednesday, we need to stay focused on winning the league!!

Regardless of who they had out, we were superb when we beat them earlier this season so to try and belittle it in some way is a bit sad really, especially as we followed it up with a win over Arsenal a few days later but hey, maybe they had players out as well?

Again your exaggerating things. Who is belitting the win ?

You are but I think you know that anyway.

I'll leave it at that.

There's actually some pressure on them for a change and that's usually when Pep shits the bed, coupled with how I think he's genuinely a bit scared of us and Unai it give us an opportunity that others don't necessarily get.

Any suggestion that this is a 'free hit', anything other than a loss is a bonus,  that we shouldn't expect anything and should look more towards Brentford is misplaced. There are three points up for grabs in our quest to finish 4th (or maybe better?) and we have every chance just as we do in every other game to the end of the season.
They are not invincible and we showed that at VP. They are just 5 points ahead of us. Our away form over the last 5 games is identical to their home form over the last 5 games.
We are a quality team who can go into every game against anybody anywhere with high hopes and expectation of victory.

I have a horrible feeling they'll be all pent up from today and score early, and we don't generally do well conceding first.

We're better than most at getting a result after trailing.

Not against good teams, I mean. Against the better sides, as soon as we've conceded we've looked very poor with the exception of Spurs away.

Arsenal basically sacrificed all their attacking intent today to grind out a 0-0.

I think people are being a bit optimistic thinking we can just rock up and counter attack them to death.

No good Diaby and Bailey stranded out on the wings if there's no one around in the midfield area to give them the ball quickly.

It was a great success at VP but we had the resources then to smother them effectively. No SJM and Kamara and they didn't have Rodri and De Bruyne that night.

Personally I'd throw Tim in. Maybe he'll be miles off it but ultimately this is a free hit game and we need another central body to help out Doug and Tielemans. Then you'd expect Diaby to regularly drop in centrally aswell.

It's a very big ask. Probably concede early like we usually do up there before a rally in the second half when the game is just too much out of reach.

It's a free hit in the sense we could just beat all of Brentford, Chelsea, Bournemouth, Brighton and Palace and get to 74-75 points that way. Spurs would have to show some incredible form to overtake us in that scenario and they've got plenty of tough fixtures left themselves.

Don't want to go flat out just to lose heroically and then have little left in the tank for Brentford across the pitch as that's the game we need to win to continue on the solid path to 4th.

I do love being admonished for acting like a child on a forum about a game of football.
