Isn’t it just a meme? Look at the length of the voice message. Think they’re just saying that could talk a lot about how much they love the club. No?

Maybe...they usually post this kinda crap when something is about to happen/ release. I took it as club texts player "X" and his reply is...sends 6 hour long voice note saying why. In my head that was Martinez...then a new contract is signed because he's probably not on "Best GK in the world money"....that's what I came up with, HA HA.

Im slightly nervous about how much change there been - and not convinced our starting 11 is any stronger.  Much better depth - which is key.

Our Best 11 last year was title challenging, If we can maintain that standard and then reduce the drop off when players are tired/injured/etc then we should, at least, be able to maintain a top 4 challenge and do a decent job in the Champions League which would be a very successful season for us even if, on paper, it doesn't look like we've progressed much. 2 CL qualifications in a row is when you can start to really push your status as an elite club.
2 in a row would be massive.

As well as in the improvement in strength in depth I would expect at least 2 "big" signings to come in, so we can't really judge until August 31st

I think we need a go to creative forward that can play the 10 role behind or with Ollie and also drift wide etc, and a top defender. After that striker cover if Duran goes.

Haven't you just described Rogers?

Yeah, think I'm with paul_e on this one here.  We've got a damn good starting XI.  Had we had a stronger squad last season, we'd have potentially been pushing 3rd place and coming home with a piece of European silverware.

To me, now, you look at our squad and it's pretty damn good:

GK:
Martinez
Olsen
Gauci

DF:
Cash
Nedeljkovic
Diego Carlos
Konsa
Mings
Torres
Digne
Moreno (maybe going?)
Maatsen

MF:
Iling-Junior
Barkley
Kamara
Onana
Barrenechea
Tielemans
Buendia
McGinn
Ramsey
Philogene
Bailey

FW:
Watkins
Rogers
Diaby (gone?)
Duran (maybe off?)

To me, I reckon you could pick pretty much any random 11 players from that in roughly the right proportions and end up with a pretty competitive team.  The only exception being goalkeeper, but we're going to struggle to find a 2nd choice keeper who isn't a massive drop off from Emi.  I mean, it's quite hard picking a worst outfield XI IMO ...

EDIT: Forgot which bit of his name Philogene had dropped!

In an ideal world, I think from that list i'd say Duran, Diaby and either Digne or Moreno will be off
and i'd also offload Olsen and D Carlos (i like him but he's inconsistent so it's an obvious area to improve). Then i'd add Archer to it and buy a really top forward to play across the front who can rotate with first choices Rogers, Watkins and Bailey. Then i'd buy a quality right sided centre back who can play with Konsa at right back at times, basically rotate the new player with Konsa and Cash depending on tactics. Then a new GK, an older but reliable player who's happy to play here and there.

I’ve a feeling Cash will go, especially if KKH has a good pre season.
We’d have two young, quick and forward thinking right full/wing backs.

@fabrizio
🚨🟣🔵 João Félix, appreciated by Unai Emery as possible option for Aston Villa.

Deal considered extremely difficult on financial point of view for total package; but Villa considering João after selling Diaby.
