What a lovely player. Still owned by PSG though.

I've just watched again Diaby's videos just before we bought him and they're similar. Feast your eyes on this:

BTW, your scouting last year at Sporting shows you can really spot a player, what was it, his fourth first team appearance? Diomande now available for between €50m - €60m. He's still only 20 years old.

Gold Star, Mr Withe!

I had been toying with the idea of suggesting lookman when I spotted him in the lineup for atalanta, reasoning being that he'd help with homegrown rules, but I guess that option is probably less likely now, or at least a lot more costly

Tella is another who looks very good. Very quick...

watching that, then its not surprising that Bailey and Diaby occupy he same spaces.  Most the threat is from broken play on the right hand side.
Luckily both are great so we can rotate them.

We don't have any problems with the home-grown requirements right now (but we do need to consider them if we look to move on people like Cash). Where we're really struggling is with the 4 club-trained slots we need to fill in the Champions League squad. Ramsey and Sinisalo are the only real options we have there (although Kesler and Archer would need to take those spots if they stay).

Unfortunately (or not depending on your perspective) there's no quick solution to this because we just don't have many players old enough to need to register but good enough to be worth naming, even the kids who could be considered are generally young enough to be in the b squad. If we want to 'fix' that the only real options (aside from KKH and Cam) are Grealish and Philogene and neither fits as well as I'd like (and I say that as someone who really wanted to keep Philogene and rates him very highly).

Back on Maguire there’s a story now where’s he’s saying we are set up nicely for a few seasons with champions league qualification and all the trappings that come with it.  I’ve heard he’s really into his tribute acts.  The last one he saw was Arse an Elbow tribute.

Ah, maybe we’ve been anointed since qualifying and he’s decided to do a bit of work.

Chelsea are being linked with Osimhen and Sesko, among others, so seems unlikely Durán is high on their list of targets. It feels like it's all coming from his people, to what end, I don't know.

Yeah, he's a bit ridiculous, but my point is it seems to be all coming from Duran himself, or his agent, but what they're actually trying to achieve with it all isn't clear. Mad as Chelsea are, it seems unlikely they're interested, so are they trying to gaslight them into buying him? Are they trying to force a new deal at Villa? Or are they just trying to create the idea of interest in the hopes some other club will take the bait and offer him a move?

I don't doubt there was contact but my guess is his agent needs the move more than Duran needs games.

Big signing on fees (Kamara / Tielemans) and big wages are something we do .

Big signing on fees are something literally everyone does when signing free signings.

That's how it works.

Any truth in twitter theory that we are buying Vasco and selling Coutinho to them? Brilliant if we can get away with it.

I saw the Coutinho to Vasco rumour a few weeks ago. Didn't see anything about us buying them too!
