Tim and Rogers struggling a bit so the ball isn’t sticking in midfield.

We are missing SJM

Looks like we are content to sit in and not take any risks, low energy football. Risky but ok if we stay goalless. Ajax are giving it everything.

It isn't easy when we only have a quarter of our regular midfield out there, Rogers and Tim have been anonymous along with Tielemans. Doug is getting crowded out.

No harsh digs from me, I call it as I see it. Only 1 team looks really interested and, it’s not Villa thus far. Let’s hope for a bit more commitment in the second half.

A bit shit. Looking to just get out a draw. Ref is awful.

Hmm.  Missing McGinns energy and strength.  Can’t keep the ball for more than a few seconds at a time unless it’s Martinez inviting the press.  Tim looks a bit too passive and we haven’t got Diaby in the game enough.

0-0 would be a good result I suppose, if a bit uninspiring.

Ref is shite. A clear corner for Ollie, Lenglet got clattered and Konsa was fouled and got a yellow!

I sort of agree with the yellow for Konsa there. Its beyond stupid reaching for the ball with your hands just expecting to be awarded a foul.

Not sure how you can blame the ref for the non corner....

Konsa has been appalling yet again at right back. Carlos Cuellar 11

Get a grip lad. Konsa hasn't had the best match but he's coming back from injury and has played very very well at right back several times

Tim and Rogers look out of their depth so far. Good experience though I guess.

Yeah they are really struggling. CBs not happy with Tim as he's struggling to screen in front of them. Rogers will do well to not to be replaced at the break. They aren't the only ones, our press from the front tonight is as half arsed as you can get. Watkins hold up play non existent. Konsa has been awful again, with a yellow I'd bring on Cash for him.

Ajax are spirited but they are very limited. With more ambition and intensity in our play we should be able to win the tie easily.

Both our CBs are doing well, Luiz has shown touches of class but that aside it's been poor all over.

Poor game.

If ajaxs finishing wasnt so bad we would be losing. Apart from diabs shot we have done nothing. It seems like we are playing for 0-0

Id rather we try win the game as they will just sit back at villa park of we either lose or draw this and we do find it hard breaking teams down at home when they setup like that

Midfield isn't gelling at the moment but Ajax have only had one real chance after 45 minutes.

Just turned the tv on at 38 mins, not sure what to make of it. Looks like we're trying to hold on to a 0-0 and win back at VP. Hopefully we are better in the second-half.

Performance has been an extension of the team selection really in that it looks like our minds are elsewhere.  Struggling a bit in midfield with the two young players in there.

This is just like the Porto vs Arsenal game!!

Boring.

Looks like Unai will be happy with a 0-0 or 0-1 (Ajax) and then go all blazes at Villa Park.

Dull but probably the right thing to do.

Will Doug play the 90? or are we going to swap him for SJM on the hour mark?
