Not much goal threat from us at all. A good test though as they look faster stronger and much better technically, some of our inability to control the ball has been abysmal.

We didn’t look able to control the tempo with those players in the midfield.

Need a new right back a goalkeeper and another striker if Ironman leaves.  A centre half would be nice.

We didn’t look able to control the tempo with those players in the midfield.

That's the big concern, we're not missing anybody. Youri looks lost playing the Dougie role. Still think Omana is trying too hard to do too much. Get the basics right and only then step up. SJM had a great 45 minutes.

Not sure what changes I would make at half time, maybe bring in Barrenechea and give Youri 15 minutes as a 10.

This will be a test for Ned as Club America play it wide really well.

We are showing a lack of touch and fitness, just like in the other pre-season friendlies. I pity the good folks who are there sweating their arses off in the heat. I'm sure we'll be much better come the end of pre-season, but it's been tear-gas thus far.

Sorry to say but Archer looks a bit of a weak link.  Rogers needs to be closer to him.

He has no real presence about him outside the box. We need that. Ollie not only holds the ball up well is amongst the best in constantly chasing and pressing. Cam comes to life in the box so I’ll give him a bit of a pass as we haven’t created much for him. He’s scored two nice goals this pre season when the opportunities have fallen to him.

First half

Gauchi- decent save and looks comfortable

Cash - they keep pumping them ball ut there as he is going his man far too much space.
Bogarde - think he has been terrific and an outstanding goal saving tackle.
Torres - some pretty slack passing
Maatson- looked good in spells.

Mcginn - in wrong position
Bailey - like mcginn out of position. Not a winger
Tielemans- pretty anonymous - needs to demand the ball through the lines like Doug did.
Onana - decent enough.

Archer - isolated and struggling to control the ball.
Rogers - no impact in that role

Will be interesting to see the changes.

Carlos banned or punished or off ?

Bogarde - being a youngster coming in,  has impressed me. Like the look of Maatsen, potentially excellent LB for years to come. i like Pau and his starting attacks. Our right flank defensively dosent fill me with confidence and we re not making much attacking moves up the right flank. The team look a bit unfinished as it is preseason but they seems to want to be up for it. Hard to say how good the opposition is.

There’s only 2 games to go, we’ll have a few more players back but we’re playing better teams so we’ll need to improve considerably.

It'll be a great test to see which midfielder covers for him when he goes on the overlap. Last time nobody did.
