Bear in mind it’s like 32C right now in Chicago. Much more Mexican weather and levels of heat than English.

Club America are already 4 games into their league season in Mexico. You can see the extra fitness in their game.

They also lost 3-0 to Chelsea the other day though.

I wonder if they’ll do a big swap or start giving some 60 minutes.

Pep said that man citeh only had 80 percent of their first team hence why they’ve lost matches.  Same for us.

It’s true. I’m much more looking at individual sharpness/combinations and how they work. Onana and Tielemans have looked ok, and McGinn/Maatsen working well down the left too. Our back 5 is totally unfamiliar so it’s not surprising we look a bit uncertain in and out of possession.

Our biggest threat is trying to play it out from the back. We're still not very good at it. This is where we miss Dougie dropping deep and playing it out to the full back.

Think this is more a case of the personnel we have out today than anything else.

We're still not good at it despite finishing 4th? Ok

To a certain extent I agree but if we can't play it out from the back properly unless our first choice players are playing then it doesn't bode brilliantly for the season. I try not to read too much, if anything, into these pre-season games but I like to see positives/improvements during the matches even if circumstances mean we don't win them all.

I believe he meant in the pre-season, hence the "missing Dougie" quip.

Exactly. For the hard of thinking I was obviously referring to the last couple of games.

Sorry to say but Archer looks a bit of a weak link.  Rogers needs to be closer to him.
