I’ve given up reading the guardians football output and listening to its podcast.  It was annoying me too much!  I still dip into the political sketch stuff (Marina Hyde can be quite brilliant I think) and some of the opinion pieces (Raphael Behr in particular).  But the football coverage, Barry Glendenning aside, comes across as really smug.

Glendening did mention Kamara’s ACL injury being our 3rd of the season and how it could effect us, that was on the latest podcast.

To be fair most of the guests on the Guardian football podcast are decent. There’s only really two that grate a bit:

- Jordan Jarrett-Bryan, openly anti-Villa fans. But it’s not even really that that bothers me, he just comes across as a bit of a shock jock.

- Will Unwin, always sounds like he’s more interested in trying to sound smugly witty rather than actually try to offer insight.

Jarrett-Bryan's just doing an incredibly boring schtick. Hating him for being anti-Villa would be to give him what he wants. Instead, pity him for being so crushingly dull.

Jordan Jarrett-Bryan, openly anti-Villa fans.

I'm not familiar with his work, but he has a really shit name.

I still have nightmares about Jimmy Bullard and his free kick. Fuck the fuckers. 3-0 to Villa. Watkins hat trick

No idea how it will go, but God I hope we are all happy with Tim, relieved to have Pau back and delighted that Diaby got the winner off his backside to give him some confidence.

Three points would be marvellous. No new injuries would be very welcome as well. 1-2. Watkins and Mcginn. Louis Saha for them. Tim to hobble off after 5 minutes.

I'm kind of resigned to things being shit for a while, so no real expectation of a win today.

We do need to turn the tide - enough of conceding soft goals, and we just need to take our chances. This is a really tough game for a whole host of reasons and we need to step up.

That Bassey is back for them which could be a huge boost for us if he is selected

The last two weeks has been deflating. A combination of injuries and those around us grabbing last minute winners etc.

But we still have a lot of quality players available and a manager who knows how to get the best out of them. Let's be positive. A good result today will go a long way to getting us back on track.

1-2 the villa.
