Emery confirmed yesterday loud and clear that the league is priority. Doesn't mean we won't give it a good go tonight but in terms of priority Sunday is way bigger.

Surely at the moment we don't really have the squad to not go full tilt tonight?

No the injury list has limited what can be done , Irogbunam maybe , Chambers, then its kids / rookies. Sunday will be much higher intensity game though regardless

As I am one of the one's who think we may lose tonight, the reasons are having been at both the Chelsea and Newcastle games

We got lucky against Chelsea, and without Martinez, we would have been out of the cup (I did hear that Chelsea fans reckon that was the best they had played this season) and then a really poor performance against a good Newcastle side, we just seemed to be on the slide, both in terms of performance and the confidence within the side.

I hope I am wrong and that we win both of our next 2 games.

How dod we get lucky?

Beat Chelsea and then Leeds at home, proper mouth-watering, old school (well, early 70s) FA cup ties. I’ll worry about Sunday’s game after tonight

I dont think we were lucky, we have a great goalkeeper and they missed a few chances.
On balance I thought they had more of the game until the last 20 minutes when we were on top.

Go strong tonight, win it by HT, sub the critical players, on to Sunday. Rinse. Repeat. UTV

Not sure we will have much depth on the bench

Don't sub them then. They've just had a break in Dubai - 2 games in a week won't kill them.

183 left so will likely sell out. Well done on the pricing.

Martinez

Cash
Lenglet
Carlos
Moreno

McGinn
Luiz
Kamara
Bailey

Tielemans
Watkins

Bench options; Torres, Kane (cup tied?) Big Tim, Ramsey, Rogers, Diaby, Zaniolo, a keeper and Chambers. Yes we have injuries, but there's still some quality players there, even out of form.

Smash these, into the 5th round. Win every game in February because that's what big clubs do. Coventry away in the quarters.

Kesler is cup tied, came on as a sub for them in the 3rd round.

And Rogers played against us for Boro, so he's out, too.

From your League , Cup and Europe prediction posts.
I see Chicago Lion, Axl Rose , Dartagnan, MplsVilla, ChrisW1, Skerra DaveP, Eamonn, Aldridgeboy, Somniloquism, VillaTim,Sid1964 N'Mav have all forecasted Villa to go out to Chelsea.
Is there any particular reason why don't expect Villa to progress?

Its called trying to be humble.  I'm actually arrogant and obnoxious enough to think we'll win everything.  Even the League Cup somehow.
