Dougie's pass is on a constant loop in my mind, Outrageous.

What makes his performance even more impressive is he was ill but still insisted on playing.

Is that true? Legend. A luxury to be able to give him the second-half off.

What a fuck-up Wilder made of the game! Yes, we were really good, but SheffU set up for us to exploit their open structure. They truly are a shit side, and I feel all the more disgruntled with the refereeing for our home game against them.
Yesterday, I thought Watkins played really well against a poor back 3. Luiz was - well! - imperious in his game-running role. Kamara also looked majestic, and Konsa is a Rolls-Royce (as someone above said).
What I really liked, though, was the addition of Tim: he is class and is going to be a magic player; hopefully for us (if FFP doesn't kybosh his Villa career). Disappointed that KKH didn't come on (rathe than Cash), to give him some minutes.

Important we channel the confidence and build from this . We won't have an easier game til we play Walsall in August.

Can you imagine the wank fest if De Bryune or Ray Boy Fernandes played that pass?

Owen Hargreaves made exactly the same point though he sadly missed out wankfest.

I deleted all my favourite porn links this morning and replaced them with a clip of Doug’s pass.

I enjoyed a ham sandwich today while I watched the highlights. Maximum disrespect.

The Guardian match report is well worth a read for sandwich lovers. Get your teeth into this.

I laughed fairly hard yesterday when the Sky commentator made a remark about Wilder’s face telling the story of the game. As if Chris Wilder is usually some effervescent smiling happy go lucky chap.

I agree with you here. They frustrated the hell out of us at Villa Park because they showed no ambition and just defended in a very compact formation, albeit doggedly and with concentration.

From behind the goal we defended in the first half my take was that they played a higher press and pounced as soon as Lenglet had possession. Their plan seemed to be based on the fact that he is a weak link in possession. He did make one awful pass but once we had got past them a couple of times and taken the lead they didn’t dare press high.

That game at VP was all about getting the first goal, which we did until VAR bizarrely said otherwise. Like someone else said, I think it would have been a similar to result had it been given.

And now we see the same incident being let go.
The ref gave the goal and VAR intervened, and it was no where near a clear and obvious mistake.
