5 nil is a bit of a big goal difference boost. There's only been 11 games in 30 odd years where a side has scored 8 or more, so I'm a bit bemused people were critical or saying we lacked a killer instinct.

Great performance. Did the right thing making changes at half time / after the fifth.

Understand the GD boost 2 or 3 more might have given but then there's the risk of injuries and/or pointless tiredness for important players, plus the chance to give, for example, JJ some more match time to get him back where he needs to be.

The technique we showed in our goals was brilliant stuff. Dougie's ball for Ollie to score was just so utterly disgusting it would probably be illegal in a lot of countries.

Incredible to think that only a few weeks ago, Sheffield United were within a gnat's chuff of taking all three points at Villa Park. Amazing Archer can't get starts there, too.

Their players look so flabby and out of shape, it's really no wonder they're doomed.

Can you imagine the wank fest if De Bryune or Ray Boy Fernandes played that pass?

When the ball pings off my little toe at 45 degrees on a Tuesday night and goes out for a throw, I get called a useless donkey. Luiz does it, and bends it effortlessly into the path of Watkins and he's world class. One rule for one....! ;)

No team has lost out on a CL spot because of goal difference in the last 25 years. Only winning 5-0 away from home won't keep me awake tonight.

They will still end up with more points than we did when we were relegated…

I reckon it will be close though. They will be lucky to get close to 10 points for the second half of the season and might already be looking to replace Wilder unless Potter was there for some other innocuous reason. (Started monitoring opposition tactics for some other club is might join?)

Martinez - world class on the 2 occasions required

Konsa - Rolls Royce of  defender
Carlos - powerhouse
Lengelet - one uperb block and some very nice passing through the lines and to Moreno
Moreno - Looking like his former self

Kamara - anonymous which to me means he did his job perfectly. No last ditch tackles just effective and assured to allow the magician Luis to do his thing.

Luis - the pick up on the edge of our box then run into space and the vision and application to get that directly into Watkins without breaking stride was simply one of the best passes I have ever seen. I must of watched it 20 times. It defies belief

Mcginn - Simple as when he is on it we play well and invariably win.
Tielemans  - much beer and influenced our play. Terrific hit for goal

Bailey - if ever there is proof not to write off a player too soon. He is the solid gold version. I think today will be spent untangling their defenders legs he was turned that much. And his goal is becoming his trademark and if he gets into that space I know expect a goal.

Watkins - 10/10 performance capped wih a fabulous run and goal.

SUE.- must of been well pissedoff after Newcastle shambles but no rnting or raving just calm and calculated got them ready for the next game. He celebrated each goal like his life depended on it

Dougie's pass is on a constant loop in my mind, Outrageous.

What makes his performance even more impressive is he was ill but still insisted on playing.

I feel like the pass deserves further examination: it went forward at an angle and curvature you’d expect from the side spin put on it by the outside of a top class midfielder’s foot. The most outrageous thing about it was, when it got past the defender, the angle changed again; it was travelling almost completely sideways (instead of forward) as it eased perfectly into Ollie’s path. So there was either backspin on it as well as side or Dougie is a non-fraudulent Uri Geller. When you watch it again, watch how the angle changes as it passes the defender. Incredible.

To be fair to him, Jamie Redknapp made precisely that point in Sky's commentary yesterday, after waxing lyrical about how brilliant it was.

To be fair Redknapp made that point (not in those words!)

Funny thing on the river I was watching, I’m sure the commentator said it should have been cut out!!
