When we last met Wilder had only just taken over and new manager bounce yada yada yada.

They might have had delusions of squirreling out 2-3 additional wins over the Christmas and New Year period to give them a fighting chance.

But the penny must have dropped by now that they are facked. If they ever doubted it. Anytime I've seen them recently they look like a beaten docket.

A messy 2-1 win to the Villa.

Or too many times players in wide positions,  I'll use cash as an example, receive the Ball advance 5 yards check and play it backwards . Then the slow predictable passing starts again .

The game of cat and mouse worked fine when Torres was around. Though there are definitely times we could and should mix it up too. We always look a better team when our midfielders get turned on the ball quickly.

Cash took the piss the other night, especially after Bailey came on. Bailey makes a run, Cash checks inside. Bailey comes short for a give and go, Cash delays the return so Bailey goes offside and Cash checks inside again.

They are dirt, but can score. We're struggling to score. This is a risky tie.

At times when we are playing shit teams like Sheffield United I'm not sure Emery's style lends itself to a winning formula.

He's all about about controlling the game and keeping possession which Is what we all want, But Teams like Sheffield united will just constantly give us the ball back regardless if we really have a go.

I feel like we've lost the higher press somewhere which gives teams time to hoof it over our Defence who in turn cant play offside without Torres and Konsa playing centre back.

Yeah, I thought that then we played Newcastle who are always going to come at us and play a bit and we were just a shit for the first hour

Are we an excellent side in a slump of form, or are we merely a decent side that’s been over performing?

Well, the next few weeks will of course tell us. Anything but a win today against a really poor side and it’s starting to look like the latter scenario.

if we win the physical battle then we'll create enough chances to win. Got to take them, though.

There is no excuse for any Premier League team not beating these. They are utterly shite. 4-1 Villa.

They've signed Holgate, remember him? Jed Steer doesn't. They're likely going to revert to 352. Or more likely 532. Be an absolute grind this potentially.

Right Villa players it’s time to bring your levels right back up again and respond - the last month of games has been weak. It’s time to step it back up, starting today with a big win.

Wilder is one of archetypal British managers, of which there are many but he’s definitely right in that bracket

Shit football, all bluster and puffed out chests and the bloke whinges like no other He was moaning the other day about someone eating a sandwich
The man’s a first class tool

was up at Bramall couple years back for our game (Snodgrass game) we were in the bar after the game and in walks Wilder with his Mrs (she's pretty fit in fairness) still in his tracksuit and stands at the end of the bar just like a normal bloke drinking pints of lager for a couple of hours .
