Grealish was a different breed and the better player. He was the best player in the league at the time. We knew it and so did everyone else. Rogers isn't at that level. Great player and we'll miss him, but we've lost more important and better players in the (recent) past.

Also the SCR benefits are huge and we all think like that these days. For that reason I've wanted it to happen all summer, which is ridiculous, but that's football now.

Ahem, Southgate begs to differ.

Seeing as were merging transfers and finance, I think we could have done with signing the bloke Liverpool are getting from QPR.

What's this now, new regulations? FFS, I've only just got to grips with SCR.

Quantitative Player Recruitment is the new thing that The Man has invited just to screw us over.

Aston Villa can confirm that Morgan Rogers has completed a permanent transfer to Chelsea.

Since joining from Middlesbrough in 2024, the midfielder has enjoyed a rapid rise to prominence, helping Villa to lift the UEFA Europa League last term, scoring the third goal in the final in Istanbul.

During his time at the club, he also earned his first senior England caps, representing his country at the FIFA World Cup 2026, where the Three Lions finished third.

A player with impeccable behaviour and commitment, Morgan leaves Aston Villa with the best wishes of everyone at the football club for both his service to the club and for his future career.

He will always remain a core part of our recent great moments and memories.

And he’s gone. Same as with Youri, can’t wish him luck as such as I want his club to fail. But thanks for the memories and was a hell of a player.

At Everton inside 3 years.

No way do they put up with the 'off' three months periods at Chelsea.

Don't want to come across as bitter, so I'll wish him the very best of luck in all Chelsea's European games in the upcoming season.

Ahem. I already claimed the Everton trajectory prediction.

He will be going to some nonsense like Everton on loan after two seasons and twelve managers.

Vomit inducing

Chelsea is delighted to announce the signing of England international Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa.
The 23-year-old forward has signed a contract at Stamford Bridge until 2033 and will join Xabi Alonso's squad ahead of the 2026/27 season.

‘I'm so excited,’ said Rogers. ‘For me, Chelsea are the biggest club in London and a club I've always admired since I was a kid.
‘I'm really excited about the project with the new manager, the players we've got and where the club is heading. That's why I'm here and I can't wait to get started.’

Rogers arrives at Chelsea having established himself as one of the Premier League's leading young attacking talents.
During his time at Aston Villa, his goals and assists contributed to 40 goals in 85 Premier League appearances, guiding the Midlands club to a top-four finish before lifting the UEFA Europa League trophy last season.

Since making his senior England debut in November 2024, Rogers has become a regular for the Three Lions, earning 22 caps and representing his country at this summer's FIFA World Cup.
