Couldn't be bothered to start a thread about this, but apparently the first FA Cup game ever televised was the 1938 Final between Preston and Huddersfield.

Pretty sure Preston beat us in the Semis, so was nearly us.

Apparently 93,000 went to the Final, with only 10,000 watching on TV!

The FA Cup Final was first televised on 30 April 1938. The match at Wembley was between Preston North End and Huddersfield. With fewer than 10,000 sets in the country at the time and 93,000 people in attendance, many more people saw the game in the ground than at home. But it started something that is now a major part of television output, fought over by broadcasters and worth millions of pounds to the teams.

The Cup Final was only the second complete football match shown, after the England v Scotland game earlier that month, which was viewed as a test run for the bigger event. The BBC's outside broadcast unit of two vans relayed the action to Alexandra Palace via an aerial set up between the famous domes of the stadium.

If his predictions were always correct we should probably be bottom of National League (North) by about now.

I think to date, not counting pre season matches, the Forest match is the only one he's got right, so I wouldn't recommend anyone puts any money on his predictions!

2-1 Chelsea. We score first and then they get 2 lucky late goals.

We've won on our last 2 visits there, I expect us to make it 3 in a row.

Have our players been allowed to travel away with family etc - not seen any images of them sunning themselves in Dubai etc

Surely all should be fit and available for this game - if so then go strong and win it

Agree, Hookey, full strength it must be, our fixtures are nicely spread out across next month and even March. There's no reason we can't go undefeated from now until we visit Abu Dhabi City at the beginning of April which is always a tough one.

As for the opposition, I've never thought of Chelsea as a top club. As somebody else mentioned, they're QPR with money but NF/EDL/Combat 18 wannabe types and post-Euro 96 'it's coming home/footie' supporters. Their recent history owes it all to the Russian mafia. Classless club on so many levels. FTF.

McGinn is/was in Dubai, he was pictured on the beach with Maguire and Shaw which was fairly unsavoury viewing

SJM is probably just tired of hanging round with handsome bastards like Mings, Moreno and Diaby, and thought he'd stand more of a chance with fellow munters like Maguire and Shaw.
