The way it works is that the opposition's player will invariably score in the game he was supposed to be suspended for, just like players who should have been sent off go on to score/win a penalty against us. Highlighting his poor scoring record prior to the game only increases the chances of this happening. It's what the Football Gods decree.

Two ref's looked at it in real time and slow motion, from multiple angles, and decided it was a red. They've been shown up big time here, it just shows that sometimes the VAR is itching to get involved.
