why did they ram so many games into December then there's a blank weekend in January.

It’s the winter break.
is that the weekend of 20/21 Jan ? There's at least 4 Prem games that weekend so it doesn't sound like much of a break

It's staggered over a couple of weekends, but everyone gets two weeks off. It's the third time there's been one.

If you're foolish enough to draw your game, yes.

Awful 1st half and if you were not a Villa or Boro fan, you would have turned on to another channel

2nd half the game was better, Moreno was our best attacker throughout the game. Both McGinn and Bailey were poor

Hopefully this is the start of the journey to winning this trophy!!!

We did enough and played in second gear. This was never going to be a classic .

We do not have a manual gearbox. An Emery team has an automatic transmission with Eco and Sport modes.

One thing which has just occurred to me is how our winner on Saturday was the mirror image of the Stevenage winner last season!

Made hard work of it against a team that were there for the taking IMHO?

Upped the tempo after the break and looked all the better for it.

Having seen us play out some 'slow' passages of play in the Euro games, I wonder if this is part of Emery's strategy to not knacker the players out by having them give 110% effort for 110% of the time.*

Alternatively, the first half could be said to not be very good.

* As a former manager put it.
