Why? I want us to be successful in Europe and see us win the FA Cup before I die.
so do i, I just don't think its realistic to get all 3 this season. Something will give and as we have such a great chance of top 4 (which will help the club grow) i don't want that jeapordised
I am in the , we can not do all 3 camp.
At some point UE will have to make a decision, not sure when that comes, maybe when we have the draw for the next rounds and subject to the state of the squad.
Probably February/March once fixtures start piling up again. How we get on with injuries / suspensions etc will also be a big factor but the law of averages says we will have some to deal with.
Mings, Beundia, Ramsey, Moreno, Tielemans, Kamara, Torres, Digne….all major injuries, with a suspension thrown in, we’ve coped so far.

Something will give like it did In the first half of the season - carabao cup. The conference league games you would expect now out of the group will go up a notch in intensity , likewise the premier league games as we reach the business end. Recent performances have slipped . It's going to be a tougher second half of the campaign , doesn't mean we won't cope but it's going to be tough.

Just as well we didn’t rest too many players Tim.
Well lets see, i only really care most about the league and finishing top 4 . If this rebounds on tired players next Sunday then it will have been a mistake picking that team, the whole point of a squad is to use it.
Yes the squad is there for rotation and we can do that against Everton.

Strongest XI required. It certainly isn't a game for rotation, that was today.

I would sacrifice the top four or five right now for an FA Cup win.

Another late goal as well.

We don't quit.
It's partly about us not quitting but more importantly it's that we make teams cover a lot of ground defending and tire them down. Tired players make mistakes and we capitalise on it.
That's a bloody good point paul!

After the Burnley game I posted that we've scored 10 league goals this season from 85+ mins, winning us 10 points. Plus a number of others from 70-85 mins.

We've also scored 2 winners in cup games 85+ mins. And a couple more in the 70-85 mark.

Dreadful, awful game but the result is all that matters.

Fred Flintstone.
Ha!
Just what I thought.

He's made it very clear that the PL is the priority....and that we want to do well in the ECL and the FA Cup.

Yep.
SUE has not once complained about injuries, suspensions, refs, VAR or other stuff.
He has shown immense faith in his players and the squad generally.
That's his way.
You work with what you've got....and he demonstrates that he has faith in what he's got.
Credit to him and the players he has faith in.

After Everton, they have two weeks off.  We are fine.

A laborious victory. Job done.

This.

Got up at 2:30 to watch it, and was a struggle to stay awake at times.

But we never seem to give up under Emery and all these late goals are exactly what teams who win everything do.

Up the fucking Villa!

Well, yes. One might liken it to a training match but I'm sure keeping possession, making Middlesvilla run around, and passing the ball around their area trying to get an opening takes time and effort, which is why I called it laborious. It was definitely not high-intensity though.

Poor first half, much improved second half. I thought their subs made them better or maybe  they were just being a tad more expansive at that point but the second half was more of a cup tie.
Boro fan on the radio moaning that the only time he heard the Villa fans was after we scored, maybe that shit incessant drum has effected his hearing?
He also complained that we had to bring 4 quality players off the bench to get the win.

Thought we did enough to win, I know it’s got us this far but I’d like to see a bit of variety in the play on occasions or when the chance arises. Also let’s bloody shoot a bit more when the space opens up for us.
