Something in that, he wasnt great, but he also wasn’t terrible. Think a lot of the ire is down to that last bit of miscontrol in an attacking phase which was poor, but not what he’s on the field for.

He’s a nothing player. Championship standard. Sell him for what we can get, and use it to put towards buying better.

Just simply not good enough for the level we require

Might be ok somewhere like Coventry

Thought he looked like he had really made the step up in the earlier part of the season and had a very goofed game against Burnley.  Thought it all started going downhill when he came on against Spurs on the FA Cup and gave possession away that led to them scoring.  Ever since then he has given the ball away poorly on a few occasions pretty much every time he's featured.

He is in the UEFA squad because he is a youth player, replace him and we need to cut other players out. Now currently that is easy as we can remove Sancho, Luiz and Elliot, but all those players also need replacing as well so four players, for three places. (At least one would be replaced by Kamara).

I was really surprised when the boss put him on the head of Douglas. Gave the ball away two or three times and just does not create anything.

He’s a young player and is ok, and will develop, but he really hinders our build up play. He didn’t do anything terrible, missed placed a few passes, but doesn’t bring a whole lot.

Looks totally out of his depth, a liability when he came on.

In Emery's mind, it's Onana, Bogarde or Kamara in that slightly deeper position, and I think that's about right. Dougie's a pretty ineffective tackler.

Bogarde's distribution was conspicuously poor on two occasions last night, including one just after he came on. Other than that, he was fine in his role sitting at the base and niggling the opposition when we didn't have possession. He's just not as good (yet) at it as Onana, who is, as a reminder, a £50m player heading to the WC as first pick midfielder with a top ten ranked nation.

I think Emery's judgement is misplaced on this one, Bogarde is a better athlete than Luiz but that's it. He has no feel for the ball at all. What's worse is it looked like some players were bypassing him when he was available for the pass. It's like an average centre back playing in midfield.

Agree,he has been awful last 2 games but I think it’s partly down to being thrown in cold.

Has looked out of his depth and nervous, which is understandable given he's still a relative youngster who is coming in and out of the team.  It's not his fault that we have two central defensive midfielders who are both horribly injury prone.

I didn't think he was that bad yesterday, aside from his first pass.

Mind you I was watching it from behind the sofa.

I thought he was pretty poor, gave the ball away and no use whatsoever with the ball.

There were deffo two very easy passes that went awry and straight to the opposition, which is pretty unforgivable at this level. Agree he seemed a bit nervous, and needs to get over that.

From what I've seen, though, he's a decent (short, continuity) passer in the Emery mould.

Anyway, the bottom line is that we are going to need him and the best version of him at that.

last 2 games have not filled me with any confidence that this guy is going to be in our future - shame but we need better
