Plus most of us Heroes & Villains were at junior and mid-level roles in our respective jobs and now look at us!
Some are born mediocre, some become mediocre others have mediocrity forced upon them.

I think he has been absolutely fantastic for us, considering he has been asked to play in various positions and roles, a vital squad member and perhaps even more with our injury situation.

Fast becoming Mr Reliable. Emery knows he won't let him down - and is comfortable playing him as a fullback or defensive midfielder.

Great first half v Spuds,  a couple of hiccups in the 2nd half (lost a challenge that resulted in their goal), but came on strong for the last 20 mins to get us over the line.

Emery’s done a wonderful job in the way he's given him the right amount of minutes and experience to build him as a player.

A standout example to aspiring young uns (inside and outside Villa) that if you've got the ability and the right attitude then we'll turn you into a Prem player.

“2 or 3-weeks” is a good period for him to be considered first choice.  Play every game and then get a break at the end.

Thought he was very poor today. Hes been doing well this season but they closed Tielemans down well and Bogarde offered nothing with the ball. Hemmings looked a step up but it’s asking way too much of him to expect him to offer much in the league this season. And I like Bogarde.

Very poor on the ball. A massive downgrade. He should be the next FFP cash cow for pure profit.

Very unfair. At the moment he needs seniors around him and toady Youri was poor and John of course was off as soon as the game started.

Crazy over-reaction, IMO.

Everton are so physical, he stood up well for the most part. Had some poor moments but so did everyone really, with many far worse than him. Of course he is a downgrade on Bouba. Bouba is one of the best players in the league.

He'll be sold in the Summer if we can get £10m+ for him pure profit on the books. That's my prediction. He's way too limited on the ball for an Emery centre mid.

He's been very good especially given his age and experience but as soon as SJM went off it was going to be tough for him as the only battler in midfield.

He did fine, he’s just not good enough at this stage to be starting every week. Not his fault or ours we’re facing into midfield issues (quite the opposite in attack).

Very harsh to criticise the lad, wasn’t great today but there were worse.

He has only started about five league games, seems a bit harsh. Unai clearly doesn't consider him that limited, he is the only academy player he has trusted with minutes.

He is limited on the ball, his range of passing is not good, just my opinion. A decent offer gives us more transfer room in the Summer. I suppose another plus to him is he'll not be on much.
