Overall he did well and is developing. But he made a couple of bad errors - he’ll learn, but still very much needs to be gentle introduction to first team.

Watching him at the game, the number of times he got the ball back or positioned himself to block the pass and kill any attack far, far outnumber any error he made, and also it was his reading of danger that got the ball back for the 2nd.

He's turning into a superb footballer.

And extra marks for getting stuck in at the end.

Yep, we can criticise him for losing the ball that led to the Spurs goal, but you also have to credit him for the positioning and interception that led to our second goal.

He's turning into a valuable squad member, certainly.  And Unai trusts him, which is great.  Nice to see him involved right at the end, too, as his body language often looks like he's a bit timid.

Ginny being a proper captain, mentioned in his TNT interview that he was watching from afar, ready to jump in if Lamare was being bullied.

Agree about the body language point.  Getting stuck in at the end shows signs that he is growing into the role as an enforcer.

He's great and developing nicely. Opposition teams are trying to smother him in possession and he just needs to release the ball more quickly. Easier said than done though if nobody is offering themselves up for the ball.

I think this is part of the Emery way though and why it's so hard to learn.

McGinn wasn't happy with him watching Ollie getting bullied and told him to get into them

The interception for the 2nd was exactly the same as Onana’s the other week, look at them side by side, almost identical

Strangely the lost ball for their goal was similar to Onana's the other week as well.

Felt they targeted him in the second half.

He's developing very well considering what Unai's asking of him, but needs to be stronger on the ball and develop a bit more vision for the forward pass.

He’s going to be a very important player for us in the coming weeks, depending on the length of time Kamara and Onana are out for.
Could be the making of him

Very impressed overall given his relative inexperience. The odd error but really works hard for the team and still generally manages to fit into Unai's passing system. Come a long way.

Remember as well, at his age McGinn was playing in the Scottish 2nd division, and a good few of the rest of our current team were playing in the Championship or lower.
