You don't tend to find many players who play the double pivot role and play lots of high risk, low reward type passes.

We do know that many different people write for various media organisations, and that there isn't a standard editorial line to take when covering unremarkable defensive midfielders, right?

You're always sticking-up for the press!

He’s turning into a footballer that if he starts nobody is concerned. He’s the Marco Bizot of midfielders filling in competently for better players like Tielemans. He had a really nice game yesterday.

More passing accuracy stats here:

96.6% vs Burnley
100% vs Feyenoord
100% vs Fulham
I wonder what Rogers are?

He did play well. Some good passing and travelling with the ball. Getting better and better.

Haven’t found what? Not sure I follow.

Stats on how many progressive passes/carries he made, but as I say I don't think it was what he was there for anyway.

I wonder what Rogers are?

A lot lower but then, as already touched on by others, he is there to play the ball short and to pull players onto him by playing it around the back or into a Rogers / Buendia to try to get the high risk pass through to the front men.

I was wondering, have we ever before had three Dutch Villa players on the pitch in any one game. Note I didn’t say at the same time.

Moving from our South American flavour of 2024 to a Benelux vibe for 2026.
