Ta.

He played at the base of a midfield diamond, I thought he shielded the ball very well, took it in some tight spots comfortably enough and kept the ball moving well. Probably a little unfair given where he was playing but I thought he was a little unambitious on the ball, plenty of times he had space to drive into and he did the easier thing and laid it off.

Big and strong enough to play centre-back; quick enough to play full-back; skilful enough to play it out in the Bouba position.

The oft-forgotten verse of 'So Macho'.

What squad number is Bogarde?

Dont think he has one...

He had one last year, I think it was in the 50s.

You are correct.

According to the Premier League site, he had 52 last year.

No number this year on the Premier League site or the official Villa site.

Although the official Villa site didnt show one for last year either. And they havent updated the like likes of Kellyman, Proctor, etc on the official Villa site this year either.

On the Premier League site, we have Marshall (42), Proctor (78), Feeney (59), O'Reilly (58), Iroegbunam (47) & Kellyman (71) all registered.

See why Emery likes him - calm, passes the ball out of defence well, happy to carry it forward and pick a pass.

He's a bit Torresy.

Lovely pass inside the fullback for Bailey to run onto. Very comfortable on the ball.

Thanks for sharing, he’s definitely got some Torres about him. Looks like one for the future, is he right or left footed?

A really exciting prospect. Let's get him a good loan and bring him back for another look next season. Hopefully a Championship club will fancy him for a year.

I've always said this lad looks a very real prospect. Whatever the game he's always looked like he fits in & shows great composure & confidence on the ball. Needs to be playing at least at the top half of the championship where he gets regular games.

Only concern is I'm not sure what his best position is.

Nottingham Forest wanted to buy him so you would think a bottom half Premier League team or top half Championship team would want him for a season. John Townley reckons the plan is to keep him around the first team squad though.

He's right footed, Anthenagin. Me too John.

Would definitely keep him around unless Carlos stays or we get a top quality replacement for him.

Don't we need a quota of 4 academy players for CL?

Interestingly he sees himself as a defensive midfielder. Give him minutes but he looks accomplished as a right sided centre back u under Unai's style.
