FA Cup Third round.
Saturday 6 January, Kick Off 5.30PM
The Riverside Stadium, Middlesbrough
Live on BBC1

OK no resting or rotating nonsense please Unai. We don't have a League game till 14 January so go for it with best available XI.

Completely agree with this, we only have two league games in January, we simply have to try and win something with this manager and this group of players. We’ve have had too many slips over the last decade.

                                  Martinez

   Cash.                 konsa.      Torres.       Moreno

   Bailey              Kamara.   Luiz.             McGinn

                            Diaby.      Watkins

Not a chance it will be anything like this team!!
and neither shouild it be . We need to rest our key players and let the B team take on Boro reserves

For me:

Martinez; Cash (hopefully), Carlos, Lenglet, Moreno; Zaniolo, Tim, Doug, Ramsey; Diaby, Duran.

Why?
a. They are knackered
b. we don't need to risk key players
c. Boro will play a mixed bag team
d. its the point of having a squad

Pretty sure this was people's attitude to the Everton game in the Carabao Cup. And we sent out a decent squad, and lost.

They won’t have played for almost a week, they then only have two games for the remainder of the month.

Risk players to try and win something for the first time in 28 years??

Well Boro might, who cares.

See the above, we need to win something.

Happy to send out a second string team and if we get knocked out, I’ve no problem with that to be honest. Can do without the extra games when we’re the closest we’ve ever got to Champions League spot.

Expect lots of changes, I would go..

Sims Aldis Lynn Dugdale Crowther Saward Smith McParland Dixon Myerscough Sewell

May have Pace instead of Myerscough as he scored in our 3-2 win last time we played them in the FA Cup (in 1957). Brian Clough got one of their goals.

Player availability likely to drive the team selection. Kamara should be nice and fresh after his Xmas holidays. Hopefully Cash back too. Likes of Digne, Tielemans won't be available. Emery will probably give the likes of Duran and Zaniolo a go.

Martinez, Cash, Konsa, Torres, Moreno, Kamara, Luiz, Zaniolo, Ramsey, Diaby, Duran.

I thought Tielemans was to only miss two weeks with his injury according to UE? That two weeks coincides with this Friday?

People saying a mixed bag of a side should be enough to see us through
It won’t it never has we got busted by Stevenage last time and this one is far tougher

don’t know what side he’ll put out but I’m not confident of winning because I think our attitude will be poor and we are always rubbish against lower league teams

We didn't lose against Stevenage because the starting line up wasn't good enough, we lost because of two dreadful errors.

Yeah it remains a strange myth about that game. 1-11 should've been, by rights, contenders to start in any given PL match. Two of them made god-awful mistakes.

I hope we take this really seriously and put out a strong side. A bit of rotation but not much, get some game time for those who need it. 2-1 to Villa.

Martinez, Cash, Konsa, Torres, Moreno, Kamara, Iroegbunam, McGinn, Zaniolo, Bailey, Watkins.
Subs, Marshall, Chambers, Dendonker, Luiz, Diaby, Duran, Carlos, Ramsey, Lenglet.
