We really had a good chance that day, maybe not quite as much so as the other night at Old Trafford but it was certainly a good chance to beat them on their own turf, but they won 1-0. The atmosphere was electric from our end and they had empty seats. I think we were the 2 best teams still in it from memory so yes, had we been better on the day we could well have gone on to win the trophy. They played Portsmouth in the semi and Sunderland in the final. That was our year.

Win that (or the replay) and we'd have had a Yanited side that finished 13in in the league that year. And Crystal Palace in the final. Would have been a fitting reward for that side and a great send off for Sir Graham.

I love the FA Cup - but Saturday is a weird one. I'm out so can't watch it. We have a good chance of winning (as a team 3rd in the Premier League should do) - but knowing our current FA Cup record and Emery's previous three cup matches I wouldn't be at all surprised if we lose. So I'm not re-arranging plans to watch the match and will hopefully be pleasantly surprised when a see the score.
The FA Cup is the holy grail for me, but can see Emery starting a weakened team and getting bombed out.
