They defended decently overall and Liverpool couldn't finish their dinner that day. 34 shots to 6, 68/32 possession, 12/0 corners, tells you what you need to know.
yeah they were organised and determined. It was a park the bus job though.
They won't play that way tonight though.

If we're in bad form/not playing well, have you watched Yanited recently?!
they actually played quite well at Anfield last week in the 0-0
So they played well, but we’re off form. Genius!

They've taken 4 points from the last 5 games, scoring 2 goals, we've taken 17 points from the last 7. We're definitely the side that's out of form!

Martinez

Konsa
Carlos
Torres
Moreno

McGinn
Donk
Dougie
Ramsey

Diaby
Watkins
Yes, I'd go with that, and have Bailey ready to come on for 30 or so minutes. Tim should get some gametime as well but probably won't unless we're well clear of them with 30 to go.

Same here.  Diaby to have a stormer tonight!

I'll go with Ads team too. Everybody in their best positions, a show of strength, all knowing their job. A 14 point gap between us and the Plastics, 13 with the Saudis if we win tonight. Another vote for Tim to get some minutes, I can't wait to see what Unai can do for him, he was ripping it up at QPR until Beale left and then anarchy set in at Loftus Road. He's a massive talent and he should be pushing to get time every week so that Kamara and Dougie can have a bit of a rest.

Man U are there for the taking. Let's do it!

McGinn must play further forward, so either Donk or Timmy comes in. I'd also play Digne over Moreno.
Bailey and Diaby do frequently play well together, I think it could work today because there will be more space in behind the Utd defence. That said, I'd start with Ramsey and bring Bailey on in the 2nd half.

If we score early we'll funeral the twats.

I know it's unlikely but if Liverpool don't win this evening, we could be top of the table tonight?

Just do them 10-0 and we'll probably go top. FTF.

Ah sorry reading back Tielemans out for 2 week?  ::)

Well, Merry Christmas all!! Let's hope it's a good one (tonight)

Torres was touch and go, so hopefully he’s go.
Thanks Paul. I fear Torres is key to us getting a win there - crossing all protruding bits and bobs :-)

Oh yeah, we're level with them, I forgot that. I know it's not "top of the league at Christmas" but "top of the league on "Boxing" day" has a nice ring to it.

And the ref is Craig Pawson the bloke who got sent to the Championship after denying them a penalty.
So bound to be impartial then.

Would like to see it at some point this season. Game week 38 ideally, but after years in the gutter would be a sight for sore eyes no matter when it happened.

Can't believe what a chance this is, again, this time to put daylight not just between us and them but between us and Newcastle. Obviously, as the last game showed, never get your hopes up with the Villa! A point would probably be good.

Friday night felt like a mild disappointment, or missed opportunity, to the point that it never even occurred to me that we'd possibly have the same opportunity a few days later! Takes some getting used to, this top end of the table malarkey.

They’re pretty dreadful, we’re fucking ace.

I fully expect us to bollock their eyes out.

He's either out of form or they both can't play together. Make your mind up which one?

Arguably both are true. 433 might be an option with them either side of Watkins
