we appear to be out of form and key players missing so i am not confident about this one plus they are due a goal and a win . Hope i'm wrong

Out of form? In our last 10 games in all competitions we've won 7 and drawn 3.
i meant immediate form , Brentford A and Sheff Utd H , not really been at it in either game

Our immediate form includes beating Arsenal, Man City, Brentford and drawing at home.

Trolls gotta troll I suppose.

Ah sorry reading back Tielemans out for 2 week?  ::)

Well, Merry Christmas all!! Let's hope it's a good one (tonight)

Torres was touch and go, so hopefully he’s go.

And yet we won & drew despite the officials & VAR, along with your assumption that we have "not really been at it in either game".

And before that we dicked ManC & beat Arsenal without getting out of second gear...

In the last six games, we are 2nd in the form table. (Bizarrely behind Bournemouth).

In the last ten games, we are 1st in the form table.

A few dodgy moments in the past couple of games when we have struggled to break down a clamped bus, but inevitably ended up scoring three goals in those two games, does not mean we are "out of form".

It means that the smaller teams are actually respecting our form.

Having said that, I make no connection between our excellent long term AND immediate form & playing ManU at the Theatre of Prawns.

Considering whenever we play there, we have to play not only against the ManU first team, but a whole host of officials inside & outside the ground at the same time.

But to say we are out of form, short or long term, is utterly ludicrous...

We’ve lost one in fourteen, do you want to be specific in terms of immediate loss of form?? You mean one drawn game and a 2-1 win against a team that rarely  loses at home?
We didn't play well in either game, until Mee gets the red I don't see us coming back in that game. Sheffield Utd was slow ponderous football we don't look the same without Torres or Kamara . I see a difficult game tonight.

Think Id go with this team today.

Martinez
Konsa
Carlos
Torres or Lenglet (if Torres out)
Moreno
Luiz
Mcginn
Zaniolo
Watkins
Bailey
Ramsey

2-1 us (McGinn, Watkins)

We can't play McGinn in that position again. He had a shocker v Sheff United and it takes from our forward play when he isn't further up. Stick in the Donk, he will surely be able to handle the likes of McTominay. I think the Donk will start tonight and McGinn will be used to target Dalot/AWB instead on our left. A tactical switch I'd like to see a bit more often tonight is Bailey switching to the left at times. Should be more space tonight than in the last two games so I think Diaby will be given another go.

I think Emery will go with

--------Martinez
Konsa, Carlos, Torres, Moreno
-------Donk, Luiz
Bailey-----------McGinn
------Diaby, Watkins

You said form, not how we played.

'Shocker' is a massive exaggeration, he made a mistake for their goal and was more limited going forwards. I'd also get him wide and more advanced again, but I do think the criticism has been over the top. He'd probably play better in there alongside Bouba rather than Doug.

Friday showed you really can't play Bailey and Diaby in the same team.

We lost to Sheff United for 10 mins and to Brentford for almost an hour, so quite a disastrous run I say. He is totally justified to be nit picking, sorry I meant concerned

I dont have the best of feelings for this game. With the situation at Man U for the moment it s kind of set for them as an underdog to have the media and home support to show them self and give it all to beat us; the better team. If we can come out and show our best we beat them though. I hope for another game as we had with Arsenal; superb attack early on an 1-0 up and nervewrecking defensively rest 80 minutes (not good for my health).

Not really, it shows it makes it difficult if one of them is out of form.

Diaby is out of form . I wouldn't play them together anyway, doesn't work.

He's either out of form or they both can't play together. Make your mind up which one?
