Weird thing about Ben Mee is whenever I’ve heard him interviewed he sounds quite thoughtful and intelligent, but on the pitch he’s a thug. Saying that I know a few people like that in local 6-a-side, as soon as they cross the line they completely change, it’s quite odd.

Is he actually a thug or just really, really shit at timing tackles? The upshot is the same.

100% thug. He slowed down just enough to let Wes get the ball first so he could clatter him. I don't wish injury on anyone but if the same happens to him I wouldn't feel bad for the guy.

Frank didn’t think it was a red card.

That commentator/interviewer is a massive, massive twat, Basically gives his opinion to Frank that as the ref only gave Mee a yellow on the pitch, VAR shouldn't be refereeing the game. Firstly, that's the entire point you prick, picking up things the ref didn't see in the heat of the game. But secondly, who asked for your opinion anyway twatty bollocks, stick to asking the questions. He did exactly the same thing last week with Arteta, basically sticking his tongue up Arteta's arse saying that the Luiz incident was a penalty etc. At the start of the interview with Frank: "Thanks for doing this as I know it's a difficult one tonight." What, the interview he's contractually obliged to do as part of the Premier League rules, you massive div? Wanker.

How their manager could moan at that red card is ridiculous. Maybe he'll watch it back and change his mind, but it was a shocker.

Absolutely nailed on red card. Feet off the floor, out of control, studs up, at shin height. It was lucky for Bailey that he didn't catch him full in the middle of the leg because that would have been a serious injury.

It’s ridiculous to say it’s not a red, if Bailey’s leg is planted there’s every chance it’s a break. It is really irresponsible for managers to come out and comment on stuff like that if they either don’t understand the rules or haven’t seen the incident properly.

There's a Villa fan on their forum and I'm not sure if he's there to wind them up or not but this reply to him made me smile:

No one gives a f*** what you take from people - and that includes how many cocks you suck for coins behind the Holte End.

I think the real reason he's so upset is that he's probably the only one's cock the Villa fan refused to suck.

Reckless lunge at pace, straight on, studs raised. No control and relying on intimidating the other player to try and avoid the contact.
Exactly the sort of dangerous challenge that players need to be protected from.

Only debate would be why the ref needed VAR to help him when he had a good view.

What we are going to see a lot of new found jealousy now and moving forward is a lot of fans just losing their minds over our success and status. There are the fans of the clubs threatened by us who will have removed us from cute and cuddly Aston Villa “great to see a big club doing well again” to absolute wankers who are a threat to the status quo. And then there will be the clubs we used to hang out with. The shit on the bottom of your shoes. We used to be part of that club. Those fans are not only going nuts about our elevation beyond their station, but even more mad at their own situation. Because how can “they, Villa” get a manager like Emery, and how can “they”, tramps like us 12 months ago, now be challenging for the title. All while “we” remain tramps. It’s doing their heads in with every new win, we separate ourselves from the life that was, to the life that will be.

I had a look on Small Heath Alliance and even they thought it was a blatant red card.

I missed the whole game today.   Had to sort out some stuff.

What a bloody game to miss!  Just read this thread.

Sounded feisty.

Another 3 points.   The Villa juggernaut has no brakes.

But let’s not us get too big headed and cocky.  This juggernaut still has a way to go.

The French commentators both thought it was a nailed-on red and expressed surprise that the VAR took so long to send Coote to the monitor. They were quite right, too. Mee went straight over the ball at speed, and planted his studs halfway up Bailey's shin. There is no world in which that isn't a sending off.

The posh Wimbledon fans can get stretched, whiny twats. Their team were constantly niggling and leaving a foot in every time they tackled, and they were fortunate the gormless referee just let them get away with it. He seemed determined to "let the game flow", but too thick to understand that that doesn't mean letting obvious fouls go unpunished.

I agree they should have had a pen for the McGinn grapple, but we should also have had one for the attempt to decapitate Kamara, so they can't even complain about that.

Basically, fuck off Frank, and wash your fucking hair.
