Torres picked up a knock, according to UE.

Yep I think it was that challenge from Wissa. I hope he’s ok, he’s vital to the quality of our play.

I've upset Facebook by saying Ben Mee has had this red card coming for years with is bonkers considering some of the shit I normally post.

Great win, but some crazy behaviour by some of our players which could be costly over the holiday period thanks to suspensions.

Sky would surely pick the reverse fixture purely for the drama!

According to that Brentford forum, Ollie has now ruined his legacy and reputation at Brentford.

I’m sure he’ll cope.
And moaning about our players rolling around, well you done it for many years,we thought it's time we join the party

Only watched the Sky highlights but looked like McGinn was livid with Kamara for being drawn into it.

Win matches when we dominate (Man City), dig in hard through tiredness to prevail whilst having shown enough to score and win (Arsenal), play a niggly, potential banana skin of a game like today after a midweek trip to Bosnia, and still win.

It's not going to be all smooth sailing and easy, magnificently played-out victories, it just doesn't work that way. What we've shown in the last few league games is that we can win in a number of different ways. If anything, that's more impressive than sailing to routine wins week after week.

I think it's a fair description to say we're not as obviously impressive away as we are at home, but worth remembering - we've won 15 consecutive home league games, it's not surprising we're not at that level away from home. Then there's the fact that despite said not-so-good away from home status, we've still taken 7 points from the last 9 away from home.

What I would say is Brentford set up to score one and hold on - that’s fair enough, but it invites risk and they paid for it.

Given the number of points dropped by Man City of late where does that leave us in terms of points won in 2023?

Villa issue a statement re the Watkins incident.

Which makes absolute sense if you look how Ollie was targeting his frustrations.

Delighted with the three points, especially after conceding first. I was a bit anxious before the game...they had only lost four PL home games since the start of last season (27 games) and have raised their game against the big teams.

Not just the richly deserved sending off for Mee but also Unai's substitutions changed the game. (I thought Zaniolo did a fine job by getting stuck in).

What a time to be a Villa fan. Mind you, at half time I had a look at X (formerly Twitter) only to find out that apparently Cash, Moreno and Ramsey are all a waste of space. Do these people not remember the likes of Bowery, Tonev and Bacuna "representing" us in the Premier League?

Bit  tasty at times. But if the opposition want to play niggly, physical football we can be more aggressive than them. If they want to play football we can outplay them, today was the former. Ben Mee again tried to break one of our players and got what he deserved. Kamara needs to control himself better than he did and while Maupay is a complete cock, Martinez shouldn’t rise to it.

Personally I’m in shock that Ollie celebrated his goal, what an arsehole, won’t he think of the fans.

This made me laugh from the Gryffindor Park Forum:

‘So gutted & surprised & disappointed with Ollie. Thought he was such a top bloke. Pulled the wool over my eyes. I will never trust another man. 😢’

Great to get the win. Ftff.

“Aston Villa FC wants to express its support for Ollie Watkins and with the utmost respect for the big majority of Brentford fans and for the club, we ask the authorities to investigate this incident to find this individual. Zero tolerance to abuse in football.”

There must have been other fans around the throbber in the crowd and heard what he was saying to Watkins. Nothing on social media from those fans yet?
