Let's hope that this follows the course of last night's game.

While not the most challenging midfield he'll ever come up against, Dendonker has done all his stuff very neatly.

Good grief, that was a testing 45 minutes. Mostly testing my ability to remain awake.

Well that was an awful half of football. Not a particular criticism of Villa, it must be hard to play against a team of cloggers on an awful pitch with that effin racket in the background.

We’re playing with 10 again. Zaniolo is a waste of space. Again. Send him back please.

no worse than Diaby

That’s ok then. He’s doing great.

the guys trying and looking active , just needs some luck  but nobody else is doing much better .

I'd argue he's our most active player..? He looks up for it to me, idk.
Totally. Diaby meanwhile is hiding again

He's making plenty of runs in behind and isn't being found, he's not playing wide and there's almost no space up top for wither diaby or duran. He's not hiding at all

From the BBC: HALF-TIME
Zrinjski Mostar 0-0 Aston Villa

Thank you referee. A 15-minute break from this.

Ball is moving so slowly in this ankle deep grass.

Anything more than a 10 yard pass seems a real struggle on that pitch. Diaby's fresh air effort kind of sums up our first half performance. Moreno looks lively but Ramsey for one needs to be doing a lot more.

Diaby’s a strange one. Really seems like he needs to be out on the wing, running downhill into space.. not exactly what we do on a game to game basis.

Rooting for Zani to get one here..

I'm waiting for the scissor hoist to do something

I was wondering what they were called. Reminds me of non-league clubs in the 3rd round of the FA Cup in the 70s.

Hope we can uncover some players in January who will “ try and look active”. Just the criteria we need.

Where did Olsen go?
Figured this would be his last Villa game but Emery didnt want to risk it?
