I hope the weather's better in Brum than here or it won't be pleasant at the game. Teeming rain with an east wind that would cut you in two.

I'll raise you 4 inches snow and  -2

I'd much prefer that. Love snow and frost but hate rain, especially when it's driven by a bitterly cold wind.

It's dry, still but cold, about 2-3 C.

3-1 Statement Win.
Going to be a fantastic atmosphere and Villa players and support alike are super up for it. It's time El Mastero beat Pep. They seem to be feeling the strain.

Villa:Watkins X2 , McGinn
Man City:Haaland.

Sending off: Stones.

I really wanna beat these more than any other team.
They are the equivalent to many people's man utd to me.
Cannot stand them.
Come on Villa!

I've seen quite a lot of commentators talking about the next two games telling us more about where we're at as a team (than previous results do).  I get that, but I'm not sure I actually agree with it.  We got beat up at Newcastle results wise and at Liverpool performance wise.  But we're 4th.  If we don't win the game tonight it won't mean we've been 'found out' etc.

I liked Emery's press conference when he talked about the game being just another chance at 3 points, out of the 60-70 odd points that would see us qualify for some kind of European football.  That's the way we need to approach every game from now on.  So called 'statement wins' only get your 3 points and you need to back them up with another 3 points.  There is a long way to go this season and there will be some twists and turns.
Agree totally with this. Whatever we do tonight, we're heading in the right direction and we're heading there quickly. Our season won't be defined by our results against Manc City, Liverpool, and Arsenal, it'll be with how we measure up against Spurs, Newton Heath, and Newcastle. Move ahead of them in the pecking order and we'll be in a very, very good place.

Bailey in for Diaby , didn't think i'd be saying that but Bailey is in some form

What insanity is this? Diaby didn’t start at the weekend to be fresh for this  game. He’s either in for CZ or is Tielemans and Diaby either side of Watkins.

I keep reading CZ as Charles N'Zogbia, even though it would be wrong, and coming out in a rash.

I can see Bailey starting with Watkins with McGinn, Luiz, Kamara & Tielemans in midfield.

Watch it if you're coming into Town. Navigation St shut by the red cage car park. No access to The Mailbox Car Park from the Queensway although that seems to be running OK. Backstreets around the back of the Mailbox are gridlocked though.

And of course the trains will be wank. They have been all week out of Birmingham.

I mean, even worse than the standard dog shit service.
