Has Moreno played anything more than the 60 minutes with the U21s a few weeks ago?

I know we'll have to throw him back in at some point. I'm not sure starting in a must win game against a team like Legia is the time to do it though.

The thing is a Digne booking at the weekend and Moreno might need to start against Man City. I'd want him to have at least half a game against a competitive side before facing up against Foden. From there I'd rather start him than bring him off the bench for this one because once the game is going it can be hard to stick to a planned sub.

Makes sense. Ideally I'd say 20 minutes at the end of Legia, and aim for the second half against Bournemouth. But as you say, you can't always stick to plans like that. If he starts and has to be subbed off after 20 minutes though, we're still in bother, but I suppose it's better to know if he's made of biscuits now than waiting until we have no choice but to play him.

Legia seem to be making a meal of the ticket thing and rather than say don't go, they are making a bigger play of what's going on, bit concerning.

Game wise, start Moreno, Lenglet, Tielemans, Ramsey and Duran please. Rest a few with Bournemouth to come, which will be tough as they are hitting form.

Agreed, obviously Emery has a few worries still over Moreno as not even getting garbage time run outs in recent games. 60/70 mins against Legia would bring him on a lot.

I've wondered about this before. I'd imagine they don't burn anywhere near as much energy as an outfield player, but at the same time they'd still have a base level of exersion they'd be used to, so..... maybe?

Imagine players like Higuita and Chilavert did, as they bombed forward.

I'm like Emery I love  having attention to detail.
Here some info to learn and for people to understand the selection process for Thursday

Pau and Diaby have both started only one match.
They are generally considered players for Premier League matches.

There are 6  European Conference first choices who have started evey game so far.Martinez,  McGinn, Digne, Lenglet, Tielemans and Bailey started every conference league match.

Player appearances in all 4:
Watkins,  Zaniolo, Cash and Konsa

Traore had minutes in 3 of 4 matches, but now injured so can expect some other player to get some game time.
Duran 3 Matches involved and 2 starts.

Chambers (50 minutes )and Dendocker (66 minutes) are more likely to be considered for minutes in the European Conference League. As they at least have started match.

In the Prem neither have started and
Chambers hasn't played one minute of Premier League and Dendocker 7 minutes

Ramsey and Moreno are an added bonus to give the options for selection and minutes.

Good stuff there. I've forwarded it to elmaestro@avfc.co.uk, it'll save him some time this week.

There are a lot of benefits to winning this by a big enough margin to get the group done and dusted.  Therefore, I think we need to go all out to win it by as bigger margin as possible.

I think Duran and Bailey might lead the attack though I'd play Diaby and Try and play him back into form
