So I'm watching the pundits say that the offside against Bailey is correct because it is the same phase of play but surely if the defender intentionally plays the ball - which he clearly does - then doesn't he play Bailey onside?

I do think its funny when Zaniolo starts people want Bailey on and when Bailey starts people want Zaniolo on.

Hopefully when Zaniolo does come on he can do what Bailey's done in his sub appearances.

These European home games seem incredibly flat

Pretty poor half to be honest. Trying to be too clever up front, and a bit sloppy at the back.

Agreed the tempo of the passnng has been too slow and the ball into the front man at the edge of the box has been very poor.

I'm still not sure about the explanation of the disallowed goal being the same phase?

Looking at 2 of the Jackson goals for Chelsea on Monday were they not in the same phase then?

Didn’t see a problem with Jackson’s goals, but I thought following the Mings rule change after Man City away, Bailey was played onside by the defender deliberately touching the ball to stop Ollie’s header?

That was my take mate.

Agreed, as I posted above. Maybe UEFA didn’t get the ‘let Man City win’ memo from PGMOL?

Bailey and Diaby played two close to each other and seemed to get in each others way.

We should be beating these they drew against Excelsior at the weekend.

Final ball just not quite right so far, diaby and Watkins not involved enough for me but certainly no poor performances out there.

Perhaps Bailey is flirting with the latter though

I thought they vanished in 1888.
