I think the perfect solution is that no one can do more than 6 aways a year. Anyone found trying to go to more are made to walk around the pitch at half time as the crowd shout "shame" at them and then they are banned from football grounds worldwide for life. Strikes me as fair and just.

Isn't that the penalty for drinking on the official coaches

The top category has now changed from full card, down to 2 less than whatever game it is.

No category decision on Luton, but if they follow the same pattern, it will make it a lottery, which would be unfair.

I'm not sure how this addresses anything other than making it less likely that those who've always gone, can still always go.

Doesn't help me. Up to and including Everton I'll have 5 so I'll never meet the second last criteria of 7 and upwards - unless we have a run in the cup and they're all away ties I guess.

If you couldn't get a ticket for Everton as a season ticket holder, then this does absolutely nothing.

I'm not sure it does much other than probably making away cup matches harder to get.

But in terms of knocking the top criteria down a couple, I assume that evens the playing field for people who go to virtually every match but one year missed the cut for a tiny ground like Bournemouth or Luton and would then be locked out the following season.

I'm not sure if I am reading the criteria correctly, but if 11 or more away attendances are needed for the top criteria for Sheffield United, would that only be taking the level down by one at most?

We have played 10 away league games and then there is Everton which makes 11 and if Middlesbrough now counts as well, then the maximum someone could have up to applying for Sheff Utd would be 12?

It's been done so effectively you get no benefit for going to Luton or Bournemouth in terms of your history. This in turn makes the top tier bigger, essentially 1700 people which was the capacity of the Brentford away end. The onward impact of this I don't know, unless we get someone with a Brentford sized stadium in an away tie in the FA Cup?

In Naples even for a home match, I needed to be a member, with a local address and have my name on the ticket with ID (passport or Italian ID card) and got checked 3 times. For a match which they didn't sell out. You guys don't know you're born.

This.

I am struggling to work out how this makes things any better.

It looks like it because they have retained the Closed Shop.
