Unfortunately Chelsea are showing signs of getting their act together, which I suppose is to be expected as Posh is a good coach. They also have a squad to cope with injuries and suspensions.

I thought that.  They are a decent centre forward away from being a threat again I'd say.  I think where we finish is going to come down to the results we get against the top half teams, because the bottom half looks very ordinary, certainly in comparison with the top half this year.  So results against the likes of West Ham and Brighton (and Chelsea) are so important.

We're clearly so much better coached now in every way, but I sat there yesterday and it struck me just how much better the touch of every player is now, balls are smashed into feet at pace but taken with ease.

This time last year Watkins couldn't trap a bag of spuds and he wasn't alone. I reckon the individual work that's been spoken about by some of the players in terms of body positioning is the key for the rapid improvement.

And also Watkins goal, I thought back to the Fulham debacle last season and one of the few times we had the ball in the first half McGinn had the ball in a similar postion to where he was Saturday when he played in Watkins, but the ball went about 10 yards behind Watkins into the stand, and it summed everything up about that point in time.

Good point, you can have a tactical genius as a manager but if the players can not do the basics really well it means nothing. I would expect that the drills and training includes lots of ball and technique work. Its lovely to see players looking so assured. Just brilliant.

They do but Gusto seems to single-handedly wish to assist opponents.

Also, as well as Chelsea played they ended up with one point, the kind of thing that happens to teams lacking confidence and is hard to shake off.

KUMB was frothing with hubris pre-match. Reading it now with a beer.

Oh man, found a beauty:

Quote
A midfield of Kamara, McGinn and Luiz looks especially feeble...

The same clown suggests they dominated for large chunks as well. Crank.

Haha, that clown needs to watch the first goal again…Moyes had set them up to play for set pieces…the first time that five of them jumped out to attack BANG we were in behind them…their feeble midfield cost them after 20 odd minutes sitting in deep

Paqueta, for that first goal, was absolutely pathetic, just ambling around on the edge of his own area letting us do what we wanted. I'd have been furious if one of our players had done that.

I just knew he was going to smash the ball down the middle for the pen. He puts it where he wants and no goalkeeper will have a clue where he's going to put it.
Good job the opposing keepers don't have your insight.

Insight? I wish, I've no idea where he'll put the next one. What is it, three penalties this season for Dougie. One to the left, one to the right, now one down the middle. He's so bloody confident taking them and has that Brazilian flair to calmly place it where he wants, cool as you like.

Let's not pretend we won't sing that if we win the Conference League this season.

West Ham are champions of Europe in the same way they won the World Cup.

He can certainly play , but he lacks discipline to play in that middle

Arsenal improved 15 points and 3 places (5th to 2nd), from 2021/22 to 2022/23 genuinely think we’re capable of something similar in terms of improvement.

First time since 1920 we’ve scored 3 or more in our first 4 home games. Remarkable.

Rem acu tetigisti. It's not just that we look good - it's the feeling you constantly get that this is just the beginning.
