Aston Villa enter strategic partnership with Japanese club Vissel Kobe. Aim to open path for top talent to play in Europe & ultimately for #AVFC.

Asics make the shirts for  Vissel Kobe (Asics are HQ'd in Kobe).

We had Asics shirts when we beat Yanited in the 93-94 League Cup. And they've also done shirts in the past for Sampdoria, Blackburn, Leeds, Stoke, Portsmouth, Atalanta and Torino, and cuprrently they have a lot of involvement in rugby shirts.

Given the Japanese cultural and national obsession with product quality then, assuming that it's logistically feasible  and we can dump them; how about we move to Asics for next season's kit?

Preseason tour of Japan next summer?

That would be amazing.

Appallingly humid, mind.

It's ok, not like the sweat just sits there on the shirts.

From Wiki - The club was founded in 1966 as the semi-professional Kawasaki Steel Soccer Club.
In 2018 they signed David Villa and Iniesta.
They play in crimson shirts.

I like them already
Up the Vissel!

They will have to work on their nickname though
Nickname - Ushi (cows)

Current stomping ground of Juan Mata as well.

Apropos of nothing, it's hard to imagine a nicer set of places to work than David Villa had. A decade across Valencia, Barcelona and Madrid, half a year in Melbourne, four years in New York then finish up with a year in Japan.

I've no beef with that.

Vissel Kobe currently sits top of the J league.

Some additional info from John Townley about the agreement

Chris Heck wants them to change to a foundry shaped crest.

Andres Iniesta was at Kobe he left due to lack of playing time. I would love for him to have a short term loan here at Villa.
Just till season end to add some class.
Would be fine with Emery playing style and would help with ball rentention and creativity.

What? He’s nearly 40 years old. That is probably a really good reason why he didn’t get playing time in Japan.

I bet he be a stand out player in Europa Conference League.
I think he could cope with the Prem due to his style . Like he could play 20 to 30 minutes.
It's just utilising him to help us control games.
I think certain players are able to carry on well into 30s and early 40s.
Of course he's not prime now however he is technically superb so I think even if he was a player with view to become a coach that would be great as an asset
