trouble in the Holte before the game when we played them in the 70/80’s
I presume it was because we were all wearing the same colours that it was easy for them to sneak in
Didn’t last long before they were rounded up and escorted back to the away fans ( yes that did actually happen in those days they didn’t get thrown out)

one of the worse days for trouble I ever had was against them at Upton Park in 80/81 FA cup quarter final
We lost 1-0 to a last minute penalty, which was gutting but there was violence throughout the whole game,
Absolute carnage inside and outside the ground

Oh they were the days !!

79/80. (Sorry about this).

Was talking to my mate about it recently and we were on about how we survived a game and atmosphere as violent as that with not a scratch but then when we got home we had more of a fight when some skinheads tried to mug us in Digbeth,

Zaniolo will win the game for us with a shot so hard the keeper and the ball end up a tangled mess in the net at the back of the goal.

Worth a bet

I remember the year we got relegated in 86/87, a Warren Aspinall hatrick and we ran out 4-0 winners (can’t remember who got the other goal). It was like our last stand before going down a few games later. West Ham were always good for a few results like that back then.

You can’t get away from Moyes having done a good job there, but he’s only come up against Unais Villa once and not at Villa Park. So hopefully we’ll turn a corner against this lot. Think Bailey will start this one.

Torres
Digne
Kamara

McGinn
Watkins

I was going to do a bit of an overview of both clubs and try to make a balanced prediction based on form, styles, tactics and me putting my finger in the air, but it seems I'm no longer welcome to do so. Ostensibly because a couple of people seem intent on either taking comments made on other forums out of context or else being way over sensitive to them.

Especially given that anything I've written is nowhere near what I see on here regularly about West Ham. Such is the modern world of social media I guess, where everyone is always itching to take offence at everything and people get judged and sentenced based on an off the cuff comment that'd probably be laughed off and instantly forgotten in a pub environment.

So I'll just say good luck for the season and good luck in Europe, where I'll always want other British clubs to do well (so long as they're not Arsenal, Spurs, Liverpool or Man U).

I personally couldn't give a shit what you say on the West Ham forum, and you've always been decent on here from what I've seen. I don't even know what you said on that forum, but you can't have it both ways.

The nasty things you've seen here about West Ham will have been written by people who haven't then gone on to the West Ham forum pretending to be reasonable.

Bollocks, you basically called us all deluded wankers and there was another dig at Brummies this week, you can get fucked pal, don't try and gaslight.

Paddy mate, I forgive you as a simple country boy you  wouldn't understand. And it's noticable he doesn't mention on that forum he was chumming it up on here with us for years.

Don't make out you're the victim. You're a two-faced wanker who came on here for years being reasonable then slagged us to bits on your own site.

It's your digs at us as fans and Brummies etc that make you two faced. No one cares if you say the team are shit, hell, i've said that plenty of times over the years. But when you come over here all nicey nice and then insult us over there don't act the victim or expect to be welcomed here with open arms.

And we may say stuff about West Ham on here, but we're not posting on a West Ham forum and acting like their mate while slagging off cockneys etc on here at the same time.

Wow, he was nearly on a thousand posts! Shame. We've lost a Stokie, Barcode and now a WHammer over the years on here. Always thought a Toffee or two would come flocking given Villa and Everton's similarities, but they seem to whine about us more than anyone else.

Why is it a shame to lose someone who clearly dislikes us?

I was being a tad facetious but also a shame in that for years he came across as a decent sort before he was rumbled on his home turf.
