Lovely. Watched the game by the pool in Alghero.  After a superb little 46 miler on the bike from Stintino.  Nice.

Did you get to La Pelosa ? Beautiful area.

Villa win. Chelsea making up the numbers, just like they've done for most of their history.

Routine big club win against the 7th best club in London relegation fodder.

Finding it hard to get excited about this sort of game.

That injury time was a real struggle, ballsy offside line after 110mins! Great result, performance a bit mixed especially after we went ahead. Correct decision for the red card. Tielemans lively cameo, rest of the subs less so.
Martinez 8 - fast off line and a few excellent saves
Cash 7 - very solid in the main but struggled with Chilwell
Konsa 8 - back to his best today
Torres 7 - much better with no clangers
Digne 7 - average first half but much better after he got the smash on his nose
Kamara 7 - excellent first half but quieter after break
Luiz 8 - very good again, set pieces a bit off but class on ball at times
McGinn 6 - running on empty a bit currently but won some good tackles
Zaniolo 6 - brilliant shot forced a cracking save, quiet second half
Diaby 4 - anonymous in first half and a bit of a stinker in second
Watkins 6 - as per Diaby until the goal!

Tielemans was lively in his cameo showing much more aggression, rest of them were poor, Emery far from impressed with Duran

You have McGinn on the same mark as Zaniolo???
Diaby on 4, what? He wasn’t his best but a 4?

See. Told you nothing to worry about with regards the defence. Massive overreaction in the week. We're better than some give us credit for. Unai knows what he's doing. We were never gonna lose today.

Well done to the team.

Been a massive over reaction since the start of the season. Here we are, 6th, 4 wins from 6 (with losses away to Newcastle and Liverpool), despite having 4 key players out injured (Mings, Moreno, Buendia, Carlos), and one of the best managers in world football.

The opponent got a nil. That makes me as happy as the goal for Ollie.

So pleased for Ollie especially as he’d had a very quiet game until he scored but, as a striker, sometimes that’s all you need to give you a boost. Don’t usually criticise the referee but today he was shocking. Numerous bad decisions from him.
We still didn’t look anywhere near our best but, some great performances, take a bow Martinez, Kamara, Konsa and Luiz. Good to arrest the giving away of away goals as well.
I’m much more positive about our chances v Brighton. Can’t really comment on the Everton match as it’s impossible to guess what teams either manager will put out for that one.

I knew we were going to win when Risso didn't give us a hope earlier.   :D Fantastic result and hopefully the start of a good run for Ollie. That ref was a bit cack though.

No you don't was my response.
And I don't feel for the USA team in the Solheim cup, tying the match but Europe retain it.

The commentary from the screeching Wolfs fan and Ekuko was constantly from a Chelsea perspective. Listed Chelsea injuries with an "oh, Villa have some injuries too".
Jackie Oadley usually seems OK but today was like Chelsea TV.

She's a Wolves fan.

Torres had a horrible pass early on that could easily had cost a goal
